"I think I need my head examined" A camsmomE TR in AUG 2010 <<Updated 11/02/10>&g

OH MY GOSH! I am seriously in love with your trip report! I've been cracking up the whole time I've been reading - IT'S GREAT!! :rotfl:

It reminds me so much of our family... I love how you include everything... all the real life episodes! Hahaha.

Cam is absolutely adorable, too! She has the cutest smile ever!

I can't wait to hear about the rest of the trip! Are yall going back next year?

Yeah I have to agree, that was the 1st thing I noticed too. And the next thing I thought was "Um wow, can we say FAKE!" How you gonna wear that at Disney of all places! Disney doesn't have a Hooters anywhere around!

:rotfl2::rotfl2:Me too!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Oh and "Um wow, can we say FAKE!" :rotfl::rotfl:

First thing I noticed and though the same thing! Honestly!!

I totally am enjoying your trip report and wish I could get mine done enough to start posting it. Its just a file right now. I love the pic of Cammie and the balloon sleeping. But the pic of all the balloons together... that would definitely be my screen wallpaper!!

Annmarieda: Yes, Max and Heidi are 10 years apart. Almost 10 1/2. My oldest is 22 now. So there is 14 years between Lily and Heidi. Do you have just 2 children or more? I like the big age gap, its a whole different experience the 2nd time around. The oldest 2 definitely didn't get all those Disney trips. Heidi's been 8 times in the last 5 years. Back when we were younger, we couldn't have afforded so many Disney vacations. :sad2:

Stacey, you are soooo lucky that you live so near the Mouse! My son, being in college down there, is just an hour away, and he hasn't gone yet. We'll be there for Thanksgiving though. We have to figure out how to get him from the college to the airport so he can catch the Magic Express. :confused3

I'm glad I'm caught up. now I'm inspired to go work on mine.

39 days!

I finally did it.. I started my August trip report... you were such an inspiration... I've got the link in my signature line now. Oddly.... the pages are now falling out of my trip report journal. I guess that's what I get for buying it in the dollar pin at the craft store! :lmao:

Yup, have 4 kids total. 20, 17, 15 and 5. I hear ya on the earlier years. We didn't go to Disney for the first time until our 20 year old was 10.

Our first trip to Disney as a family was on the thinnest shoestring there was. We drove all the way straight through the night from Houston to Orlando. Way further than it is from here in VA to Orlando. This was in 1990 when our 22 year old was almost 2. We stayed with my friend Eddie the Ft. Wilderness cast member. Eddie is still at Ft. Wilderness by the way. Eddie got us the daily park hopper passes that cast members could get for their family and friends. Lily didn't need a ticket because she was under 3. The only money we spent was on gas for our Ford Escort and money for quick service food. I'm not even sure I was aware that Disney had table service. I probably considered it too out of budget to ponder.

After that we didn't go for another 10 years, when Lily was 12 and Max 8. After that it was 5 years. It wasn't until 2007 when I bought into DVC that we could go more often. By then we'd been married for 21 years!

Check out my trip report. I start out with an introduction and our Disney history in the beginning. I hope it isn't too boring. :scared:

Yeah... we have a club!! Its great to enjoy each age separately. Right now.... I'm sitting with Heidi as she reads Fancy Nancy! :cutie:

By Friday, getting up and getting out of the room was getting easier... for me. Apparently Cam did not feel the same way, as she screamed and cried all the way to the bus stop. As usual, we arrived at the bus stop on time, and waited about 10 minutes or so for the arrival of our bus. On this particular day, I remember loading the family on the bus (which had only one or two other families on it at that time) and thinking out loud- we need to move. Mike was like "what? there's no one on the bus, what do we need to change seats for?" I quickly replied "I don't know, but let's move." so we did. And off we go... next stop- Grand Floridian, where we loaded a very large family that contained a handicapped child- you guessed it- the seat we were originally sitting in was folded up to allow her wheelchair aboard. I contained the "Told-ja's" pretty well.

About 5 minutes into our trip to DHS, I kept wondering if I would encounter any DIS friends of mine before we check out tomorrow. [I found out weeks after we returned home that we were sitting right next to my friend Bob and his family, and I didn't even know it.]

Pretty soon, we were at DHS and on our way to the front to see the rope drop, we took this cute little picture of our family.

We were pretty early, so I headed to the ladies room with Cameran while everyone else rushed toward the front. I kept going over my plan in my head "head directly to Toy Story Mania, DON'T ACCIDENTALLY PASS the Fastpass kiosk, grab fast passes, head to Rockin Roller Coaster."

We took out place in a semi-large crowd waiting for a very low key rope drop.

as soon as we were cleared to proceed, we headed to Toy Story as planned... and wanna guess what I did?? I ACCIDENTALLY PASSED THE FASTPASS KIOSK! [insert cuss word of choice here]. We walked up to the line (8 minutes past rope drop) and the wait was 65 minutes. HA! I'm a Floridian- I live 60 minutes away- I hold annual passes- NO RIDE, I repeat NO RIDE is worth 65 minutes of my day spent entertaining a two year old wild child in a packed line. Ok, no worries, we'll head to Rockin' Roller Coaster early.

When we arrived, I grabbed a fastpass and we let Cam get out of her stroller and run around a bit. We also found that bubble blower gun that My husband HAD to have when he saw it the night before at the MSEParade. What an expensive little piece of junk.

I think we had about an hour to wait, so I BEGGED to go on our search for the "Writer's Stop" coffee shop to find my carrot cake cookie and a latte. We took one little detour to watch the 3D muppet show.

She looks like she thinks I'm gonna throw her in! hahaha

Well, she would NOT leave the 3D glasses on, so I hardly think she enjoyed the show, but Mike and I thought it was cute.

Then it was straight to the Writer's Stop for a biteful of wonderfulness!

Oh yes my friends, that is cream cheese frosting in there!

Next, instead of heading to RNRC as planned, we decided to keep Cam on the happy side and take her to a showing of Playhouse Disney Live on Stage.
DSC_0058-4.JPG

We had a prime aisle seat- YAY!
DSC_0061-3.JPG

Or so I thought until she got away from me and got yelled at for running up the stage stairs!!
DSC_0063-2.JPG

Does she not look like a criminal being put in a squad car or what?! hahaha

Anyways, we had a great time, but have no pictures because I took video the entire show. FINALLY, we made it over to RNRC! I used my fastpass to get on first and asked the man for a Rider Switch Pass for Mike, since he started off with the baby. I literally walked right on! I am NOT NOT NOT a roller coaster person, but after the initial WOW that take off was insane, the awesome music made the ride really fun for me. The following walk through the gift shop was a bit comical though, as it took about 3 or 4 minutes of walking for me to find my feet/balance again. We handed off baby for pass and traded roles allowing Mike to ride now. Cam and I had a pretzel break.

When mike got off the ride, we asked each other if we'd like to stay, or head back to Wilderness Lodge for one more chance at the pool. Um- easy... Neither of us have ANY interest in Tower of Terror (although I took this shot for all of you that adore it...)

Anyways, we grabbed a few Photopass pictures and in minutes, Cam was passed out on the bus.

That's a pretzel hangin out of her mouth, not a snaggletooth. Just sayin...

Here's the final result.

and Yup... only people on the bus.

It was about 12:30pm. We were starved, and headed "home" for the afternoon. What a great day!

Next up? Pool Time (one more time), lunch, and out night at Downtown Disney!

Yay! A new update! I love that shadow pic of the family. Why didn't you go back and get fastpasses after you passed it?

By the time I'd realized what happened, the fastpass line was as long (or longer) than the standby line. Long story short... we never rode TSM that trip.

Yeah an update. As usual Cam is adorable. I love your new hair color. It looks great.

I always love reading your updates! The pics are great! Cam looks so cute as the "criminal" ;) Looks like you had a great time. Oh...and the cookie. I must have totally missed out on that. And the bubble machine...yeah...my dh had to buy that for my dd too. :sad2: what a way to waste..I mean spend some money.

Finally.... I LOVE the hair!!!
