Happy Thanksgiving, Jen!
I just love the update ...... all those pics of the classic ships make me VERY homesick.
The buffet on the classic ship looks really inviting ..... and I don't even like buffets.
Are you still writing from notes or memory? I completely forgot that I had tried to get into Brave that time! It was PACKED!
Mmmm....Quiet Cove. Yum.
I really fell in love with the classic ships. I hope to sail the Wonder some day too.
I liek buffets, I know you are not a fan, but most were pretty decent this trip.
Sadly I only wrote about 2 days worth of notes, so I am trying to go by memory. I am sure I am missing something or I might accidently post something on the wrong day. I am trying to see the time stamps on my pictures too to remember where I was during the day.
I have started my Trip report for the Dream Cruise. I invite you all to come over and join in the fun there as well.
Oh The Places We Go, The People We See
I wonder why they keep it cold enough in the theater that people would need blankets?
The Quite Cove looks VERY quite!
I thought that was odd too. The rest of the ship was pretty comfy, but that theatre was an icebox
After the coffee purchase by Lisa and Brook we headed out and roamed a bit. I took more pictures.
I think we separated from Brook at some point in time.
We found a seat in the adult area and saw this helicopter go around.
I wondered if Cuba was monitoring us. Lisa said I shouldnt have taken the picture. And then a few minutes later it circled again and she swore they were coming to get me.
I have since heard that Cuba was in fact watching us. Not sure why really, but I guess the Big Disney boat looked intimidating.
We walked around a bit more.
I think we ran into Brook again and she was going to the Cove Café for a snack so we followed her in again. (Or I could have my memory wrong and we went in the 1st time by ourselves and the 2nd with her
I cant be for sure. LOL)
A better picture of the sign.
A little more roaming after.
Signs of life out in the big ocean.
How do you do it, Jen? TWO updates in a day!
Love all the pictures. So you were indeed under surveyance of the Cubans. Guess they need some good TAs too!
I got up early and played. LOL then off to start decorating and it's 2 steps forwad and 3 backwards with that project.
I also heard some saw a boat come and watch us from Cuba too.
I have to say, I love how they line up the bottles and glasses in the bar areas! It satisfies my OCD tendencies.
Cuba's just jealous they aren't cruising around with Mickey!
ARe all the theaters cold like that? Good to know!
Lunch looks yummy, even with your point n shoot pictures!
The cove cafe looks very pretty as well. Wonderful pictures as always. Too funny about the helicopter on alert.
Do I see a new TR started? Yup I do!
OK.... caught back up. You know. On THIS one.
Just one question. What the heck is a toilet light....... and where do I get one?????
I think it looks so pretty, and I always take a few pictures.
Carolyn was telling us how Cuba is such a hot spot for Canadians. I had known that, but it still seems weird. Just think if the US would be allowed to go, It's so close that I bet it would be a really hot spot for us too.
I don't remember the Dream one being that cold, but I never got a chance to watch a movie in there, only been to a talk in there and then an excursion meet.
I guess we got too close for comfort or something. I have never seen that on the NCL cruises I took many moons ago, and I know we sailed near Cuba on both of those cruises too.
Yes, I didn't get much up yet, but it is started.
LOL. It's the light switch for the bathroom with the toilet in it. I guess to let you know it's not the one with the shower in it. I kind of thought that was funny too.
Well, that's no fun. I thought it lit up at night so you could find it!
It might've. LOL
We headed back to the room and started to get ready for dinner and just laze around a bit. We both showered and watched one of the movies playing on TV as we got ready.
Tonight dinner was at Parrot Cay.
I believe bread was Warm Banana Bread with banana butter dip.
While we made our selections I took a few random pictures.
For an appetizer I chose the Baked Crab Dip Martinique, Jumbo Lump Crab Baked in Creamy Cheese Sauce served with colorful Tortilla and Plantain Chips.
Lisa got the Cream of Green Asparagus, With Crabmeat and Asparagus.
One of us, or maybe both of us had this salad. It’s so sad, but I can’t remember for sure, but I am pretty sure we both had it.
Parrot Cay Salad, Fresh tender Spinach tossed with sliced Red Onions, Mushrooms and a Warm Bacon Dressing topped with Crisp Bacon and Chopped Egg.
For my Entrée I got Mixed Grill, Grilled Beef Tenderloin Steak, Lamb Chop, Bacon Wrapped Sausage and Jumbo Shrimp on Mashed Potatoes, Asparagus and Grilled Tomato with a Cabernet Mushroom Sauce.
I don’t have a picture of Lisa’s plate, so my guess is that we got the same thing, or I just wasn’t feeling like taking another picture. LOL
Lisa got the Parrot Cay`s Sweet Temptations, A Trio of Crème Brûlée Cheesecake, Lemon Meringue Pie and Chocolate S`More Vanilla Cake.
I got the Ice-Cream Sundae, Cookies and Cream ice cream, served with a fudge brownie bar, Whipped Cream and Chocolate sauce.
Yum Yum Yum!!!!!
I didn’t have any complaints about dinner at all, though I think a few got something that they weren’t too happy with.
Julie had tried the crab dip too. I know she had said something about it not being her thing, but she wanted the chips. Well she loved it and I am pretty sure she ate the plate clean.
After dinner I took a few random shots as we left.
And then back to our room.
Where we found this guy waiting for us.
Some of the girls were going to go to David Williamson’s adult show tonight. I wanted to go, but I made the mistake of going back to the room. It was just so comfy there and before I knew it, I threw that idea out the window and just got ready for bed. We had an early excursion tomorrow, so I decided sleep was best for now. I did leave out the room service tag for us. I just checked all sorts of things off. If it sounded good, I checked it. LOL
I think this ended up being my earliest bedtime during the trip.
I wouldn't mind trying some of that crab dip myself. Looks yummy!
I hope you have good notes. I'd be confusing the 2 cruises by now!
I don't! I keep saying I am going to work on them from this last trip...but I haven't yet. I have the first 2 days done and thats it.
Stole my line! I love crab dip, even the cheap stuff from the local deli is good for me, so I'm thinking the dip on the cruise must have been wonderful!
We'll know when she starts confusing the 2, She'll write of Claire drinking a rum drink and Lisa playing in the kids area.
