I hate to ask again but prayers needed

MM -- I'm praying for Marla and for you. Please ignore those who try to bring you down.

Marla just called. Her dad drove her to see the surgeon this morning. The third hole has not closed. The doctor thinks as Disney Doll suggested that the PICC line is contaminated and they are going to replace it today.

In the meantime he is going to phone the surgeon we found in Cleveland and consult with him. If that surgeon thinks he can help Marla we are taking her up there. I pray that he can. He is supposed to be one of the best in the world.

I can't stop crying. I keep seeing this little curly-haired girl.

Ignore these people. They enjoy inflicting pain on others because they know that they have nothing to lose--they've already lost their dignity and respect.

I don't know if I posted this or not. As Disney Doll suggested, they changed the PICC line on the theory it was contaminated and causing her temperature to spike and her shivering. They have left the drain in place. Her surgeon is supposed to consult with the Cleveland surgeon about what to do. He sort of wants to remove the drain thinking it might be preventing the last hole from healing, but he is afraid to because garbage coming from the hole could cause peritonitis which can be lethal. If surgery is required he says it has to be in a big hospital because she will need 24 hour dialysis. Apparently that surgery is very tough on the body, especially the kidneys. Once again, anybody who is considering this surgery or knows someone who is, think long and hard. There are lots of complications that are not reported.

This just sucks. It was from voluntary surgery - not an illness. It is good though that this surgeon knows his limitations and will not do further surgery on her. I'm just hoping that if it is necesssary the recommended surgeon will do it. I think doctors don't like to come in on other's mistakes.
