How to book multiple lightning lanes for different people

Hi all.

Just a couple of months now until we are back at Disney Orlando for the umpteenth time!

However this time there will be eight of us as we are taking the grandkids for the first time.
So how does it work when booking the lighting lane attractions first thing in the morning when there could be various different choices to book. I.e. the grandkids and one of their parents will want to do one ride but us oldies may want to do a different one?

Does each person need their own My Disney account and have their ticket linked to it so they can book it themselves? Or can I control it all on my account?

We have only done the new lightening lane system once and that was in California a year ago and we all did the same rides so not sure how it all hangs together.

Thanks

You can easily book multiple rides for multiple people; as you choose the ride, you can unselect and select whomever is in your party, but it may be time consuming for one person to do for everyone. It would probably be easier for one group (the oldies 😁) to book their own while the other group books theirs. Plus, each ride will have different return times, which will mean different opportunities for booking the next ride.
