Married 17 years. We started dating 4 years before while in college, and got engaged after a couple years. We took it slow because we figured what's the point of being married when we both still live at home while working on our degrees.

DH & I have known each other since high school, &, while we went out a couple of times in high school, we didn't officially start dating & become a "couple" until our freshman year of college - February 1992.

And we got married in April 1995. We had a loooong engagement - 14 months!

We just celebrated 20 years the other day. Edit- we dated for 17 months. My first marriage lasted only 5 years but we are friendly as in my current husband and our children visit my ex and his Mom. We have a daughter together and she is getting married this month.
