This will be my 10th year in a row. as always, I can't wait for HHN's. I hope its in the Studios again this year.
I've been to all Horror Nights except for the first year it was held in 1991 and one year in the late 90's,either 97 or 98.My favorites have been the first time I went in 1992 and the first year it was held in IOA when Toon Lagoon was covered in foam.I can't vote in the poll since I've been to more than 10 but not all of them.
It's funny I have been to WOF many many times but I have never been during the fall. I thought about going last year when I got back from Orlando but I didn't think it would measure up after HHN. How is it? I'm guessing you have been. Wait a minute, did I read in another post that you have worked there before or was that someone else?
I like it. Although its not as impressive as HHNs, for a local theme park, it's pretty good. Its worth the money in my opinion, especially if discount coupons are available.
About 2 years ago, a nephew had an after school project where he was needing volunteers to work at Halloween Haunts for a Saturday night, so I signed up. I was assigned the job of controlling the entrance of Bloodshed, also know as Old McDonald Slaughterhouse. Fortunately, there was another volunteer that worked the entrance also, and the both of us did a pretty good job combined. It definitely gave me respect for those who perform at haunted houses.
As for visits, over the past 2 years, I've gone twice for each season: hitting a Friday night on one weekend and a Saturday night on another weekend. I've found that Fridays are a lot less crowded, but that's because the park is only open in the evening on Fridays and is open all day on Saturdays, during Halloween Haunt.
One of the differences between HHN and Halloween Haunts is that HHN will have completely new haunted houses and scare zones, while Halloween Haunts repeats most of their houses and scare zones, with one or two new houses or scare zones added each year. Another difference is that although Halloween Haunts also has a few halloween shows, none of them compare to Bill and Ted's!
Thanks for the info! I'm going to try and make it this year. My older boys seem to be getting more into things like that so I'm sure they would want to go. But again, I will be going after HHN so I think I would be comparing the whole time. What are the prices like?
I used to go, been maybe 5-6 times but the last time I went it was just to out of control for me, to may fights breaking out. After seeing fist fights between guests and cops I do not go anymore.

We haven't witnessed actual fights, but we have seen the aftermath a few times (cops hauling people away). DH also had a drunk "buddy" in the line for Scary Tales last year. Dude kept running up behind him, saying "Boo!" and then going into hysterics saying, "I scared you!" He was waaaaaay drunk...in the house, Security stepped in because he touched a scareactor. I doubt he meant any harm, but I'd bet $$ that he ended up getting kicked out at some point because he was beyond knowing appropriate behavior. I forgot how many blood bags he told us he had consumed, but it was enough to kill an elephant.
Last year, I paid $67.68 for Halloween Haunts. I believe that was for 3 tickets purchased with a coupon for either Friday or Saturday night. Checking the calendar, Worlds of Fun is open from 6pm to midnight on Friday, 11am to 1am on Saturday and 11am to 7pm on Sunday. The haunted houses and scare zones are only open Friday night, and Saturday night after 6pm. Before 6pm on Saturday and all day on Sunday, Worlds of Fun has kid-friendly halloween events.
Thanks! It's funny how I make sure I get to Orlando every year but sometimes we go 2 years without making it to WOF/OOF. I live 15 minutes away from it. That sounds like a good deal. Were the coupons from online?
Yes...that should be really BIG!we cant wait to see what happens for the 20th anniversay next year.
This will be my sixth HHN since moving down in 2004.
I don't usually ride at HHN...it's all about the houses, shows and atmosphere for me. But...I don't think any of the attractions that are open change any during HHN that I've noticed. Most of the changes are outside and in the houses.what the ride attactrions like during Halloween I heard they suppose to be changed for the event but not much.
