How Many Times Did I Meet Pluto This Trip? A Dec Solo TR - New TR Link 11/30!

I'm with you Arianna. I just have nothing new when it comes to ride photos anymore.

Holy, 90 minute wait?????? I gotta say that's surprising. I haven't seen the movie yet, but that's crazy!!! I love meeting characters, but no way I'm waiting that long.

YES YES YES Front is COWBOY!!! This is amazing that for so long this seemed to be an urban (cowboy) legend, but it seems to be happening more and more. Soon we'll all be begging for the gangster.

Have a great trip!!

Congrats on getting the Cowboy scene!! And nice getting pulled right in for the LM show. I too find it difficult to get pics of that show.

Thanks, we did have a wonderful trip! I was very excited to finally see the Cowboy scene too. I might have gotten a few shots later in the show but I was worried about how bright my camera screen looked. I don't like disrupting other guests.

I also feel like it's cheating to ask for the cowboy scene!!! When we went in 2013, my four year old fell in love with the Great Movie Ride; we waited almost no time to go on one day. Immediately after exiting, we were checking out some hand prints and he was talking about wanting to go on again--the line had grown SO long though. A cast member came over and asked him if he'd like to ride again WITHOUT waiting--he escorted us through a backdoor and through the room of lines with the movie screen, while yelling "VIP FAMILY COMING THROUGH!!" We got to go on again and the second ride was awesome because we got the cowboy scene :) Such a magical moment!

I love all the pics you took--mine never seem to come out focused very well because of the dim light and moving tram. Keep up the awesome work! :)

That is an awesome story! Nothing like some great pixie dust. I didn't do well with my old camera but the new one I got does much better in low light.

I don't think I've ever seen the Cowboy scene! I need to plan a trip back!!! ;)

There's always something to encourage a trip back!

YAY on the cowboy! So happy for you!!! Nice pictures as always!

I am so excited for you and your vacation coming up!!! I really can't wait to hear how you loved everything!!!

Thanks, I really enjoyed getting the Cowboy scene. We did have a wonderful trip. I'm hoping to get started on the TR sometime next week.

I'm glad you got to see the Cowboy scene. We've had it once or twice over the last couple of years...always a nice change of pace.

Great pictures on the Movie Ride.

And glad you got to see Mermaid.

You will have to tell me where this Character Paloosa is as we've never done it. And is it at different times or just one time?

It was a very nice change of pace.

As for the Character Paloosa, it changes depending on the time of year. When I was there in December it was at 3:35 each day with a second one on some of the days at (I think) 4:20 pm. Location can also vary, it was at the TOT exit this trip but I've heard it's sometimes in the Streets of America too. I used the web site/app "Kenny the Pirate" for character times and places. I found the app to be accurate almost all the time. It costs $3.99 for a membership but that was the best $3.99 I've spent in a while.

I'm not a hugely creative person so coming up with ride photos just got to be too hard!

The movie was pretty popular, I know my cousin's kids were pretty crazy over it. I wasn't expecting that long of a wait though! The move was very good, I highly recommend going to see it!

I think they run the Cowboy scene when the park is more crowded and it certainly was crowded that day!

Character Paloosa #1

Hi! I'm back from our trip to the Darkside! It was a very fun trip with only one minor glitch. I hurt my foot on Friday and ended up hobbling through the rest of the weekend. I went to the doctor yesterday and was diagnosed with Tendinitis which I wasn't happy about. I was hoping it was something that could be fixed and not chronic. I will start the new TR for that trip as soon as I get the pictures edited and uploaded. Hopefully it will be next week sometime. In the meantime, here’s an update on this TR.

So as the title implies, my next stop was my first Character Paloosa of the trip. Just how many did I do that week? You’ll just have to stick around to find out. Hey, I’ve got to keep readers around here somehow!

I headed back down Sunset Blvd to the TOT exit. When you exit the gift shop, if you look to the left, you will see a large gate. This is where the Character Paloosa is currently being held. Well at least it was when I was there, it could be changed by now. I got there early since I got done at Little Mermaid faster than expected so I found a bench and waited. Pretty much right at 3:35 the big gate opened and revealed a path that led back into the Fantasmic area. All along the path there were 8 characters, some of them pretty rare. There are no PP photographers but each character had a handler who was very willing to take pictures for me. So who did I head to first?

Yep, lots of rare characters and I had to go to Pluto first. So this was greet number 2 with him for the trip.

Then I headed to the rare characters to make sure I got them. First up was a guy from one of my favorite movies, Lion King. Yep, it’s Timon.

Then I went and visited with Brer Fox.

Next was the Evil Queen from Snow White. She was hilarious, totally above the whole process and barely spoke two words to me. I was trying to match her expression but I was having a hard time not smiling at that point.

Then it was time to meet the Genie from Aladdin.

He loved my Pluto gear and made sure to point it out to Pluto who was standing next to him.

Since I still had time (the Paloosa last about 20 minutes) I visited the other characters that are not as rare. I met so many characters this trip that I really have no idea what I talked about to each of the face characters. Jasmine was first.

Then Minnie Mouse. I do remember that we had a conversation about my Pluto gear. She told me how much she loves Pluto by pointing to my bag and making a heart with her hands (paws?).

The final character was Snow White.

What an awesome experience! In less than 20 minutes I got to see 8 characters, a few of them ones that are hard to find in the parks. I made the decision right then that I was going to try to come back and catch this again on another day.

I still had some time to kill before the 4:55 pm Frozen show so I decided to go visit some Muppets. I noticed that they added Constantine from the Muppets Most Wanted into the intro.

I wasn’t sure where to check in for the Frozen Sing-Along since I had a special ticket thanks to the Dessert Party I was attending later that night. I stopped at the FP+ entrance since I knew where that was and the CM directed me to the other side of the theater. I ended up in the third row. I know for sure that the first row was handicapped seats but I think the second row was Dessert party people that got there before me. The FP+ people were in the fifth row and back. Here’s my view of the stage.

There were two big screens on either side of the stage.

And one large one on the stage.

The show is basically a retelling of the Frozen story by two citizens of Arendelle with brief appearances by Anna, Elsa and Kristoff.

Elsa doesn’t come out to the very end and then she makes it snow in the theater.

All in all a cute show and I enjoyed it a little more this time since I knew what to expect. The first time I was a little disappointed with how little you actually saw Anna, Elsa and Kristoff.

Up Next: Oh Those Glorious Osborne Lights.

That definitely was a character palooza! I have never met brer fox or Timon.

We didn't make it to the frozen sing a long but it looks like a fun time. Can't wait to hear about the lights and the dessert party.

Wow....what a great Character Palooza. I am definitely going to get that app and keep that in mind for our July and October trips.

Who did you see first? What a silly question! Anyone who knows you knows that if Pluto was there that would be your first stop no matter who else was there. I would LOVE to meet Timon; I've met most of the others, I think, except the Evil Queen.

What an awesome set of characters at Characterpalooza! Very cool that Pluto was there for you :)

Your seats for the Frozen sing along were great! Can't wait to hear about the lights/party.

Glad you had a fun trip to the dark side, but sorry about your tendinitis. I hope you heal quickly.

Love the character pics. They are awesome. Your matching shirt and pocketbook are SO darn cute. I am sure all the other characters felt left out. :rotfl2: Oh well!

Great seat for the Frozen show. Both Anna and Elsa are so cute. They really do know how to find the person actors, don't they? How much phone would it be to play either of those roles?

This is where Characterpazlooza was last month as well Arianna. Kind of an odd locaton honestly.

I sadly only made it to one, and was really disappointed at the character selection. Nothing special at all. But this one, wow. Timon and Brer Fox... that's rare. Seriously? Genie? I got totally ripped off, lol.

Wow! Congrats on meeting Brer Fox, the Evil Queen, Timon and Genie. And throw in Minnie, Snow White, Jasmine AND PLUTO!!! What a score.

Lovely pictures from the Frozen singalong.

(And I hope your foot is feeling better).

I've been following you on your TR with you mom and decided to stop over here also. We were in WDW the same time as you were. I went with my daughter for a little mom/daughter time and we had a blast.

Such a fun TR!

I loveeee your Pluto ensemble!! So cute!!

Looks like you had a great time at Character Palooza. Definitely a must-do for my next trip.

Overall, would you recommend the Frozen Sing-a-long? I'm debating on shelling out a FP+ for it for my next trip (provided that it's still around).

Just loving your pictures! Brings back so many memories of our trip and I thought we had taken a lot. I can't believe we were there at the same time. Was in MK on Nov. 30th.

Love the meet and greet with Tink. It is fabulous and so is she. So glad you went ahead and saw her. We met a lot of characters also. My daughter is 23 and most of them gave her as much face time as they did the kids. And most of them always included me or at least asked if I would like to have a picture made. The Tink meet and greet was by far one of my favorites. And the CM's helping her were great also. One of them was taking pictures with my daughter's phone and we found out later that she took a selfie of herself, too funny, and then one of me taking pictures with my camera.

I can't believe that someone would just let their kids duke it out instead of taking her kids out of the show.

Hi Ariana! :wave2: Fellow solo traveler here and loving your TR so far! And I agree completely - solo trips are very freeing, indeed! Pop is also my favorite :goodvibes I love the way you decorated your room at Movies :thumbsup2

Something tells me you'll probably be back to Disney again before 2017 ;) At least I hope you are!

Ahhh, the purple street signs... you know you've arrived when you start seeing those... :cloud9:

That's a great idea to have the food delivery service. I should think about that for my May trip. I've been wondering how I can get some fruit and vegetables here and there during the week :rolleyes1 As for the cookie dough, I so would have eaten it as is :rotfl:

Wow, MK was decorated so beautifully for Christmas... I haven't been during Christmastime since 1997 so I'm always happy to see TRs during that time. Speaking of Christmas, what a thoughtful and sweet gift you got for your mom - I love the purse!

Yikes, I can't believe that you got smacked by the two boys beating on each other at the Tiki Room. What's the matter with people sometimes?! :confused3

Your Dumbo pictures are amazing - so glowing and magical.

Wow!!! I can't believe you saw your Canadian friends again at Sci-Fi - what are the chances?! :goodvibes It's just Disney magic I suppose... ::yes::

Looking forward to more!

WOW! Awesome characters! so glad you were able to meet so many! It is a weird location?!?! I wonder why?
Ohh I cannot wait to read the new report!

It was a lot of fun to meet some of the rarer characters! The Frozen Sing-a-long was cute. Lights are coming up next but it might be a day or two before the dessert party update.

You definitely should try to make it to one of the Character Paloozas. It was a lot of fun meeting all those characters! The Evil Queen wasn't all that fun to meet but I still wanted a picture with her.

What an awesome set of characters at Characterpalooza! Very cool that Pluto was there for you :)

I was super happy to see Pluto. Plus I love Timon so I was glad to meet him too. I did get an excellent seat for the sing a long. Lights coming right up!

Glad you had a fun trip to the dark side, but sorry about your tendinitis. I hope you heal quickly.

I think my foot is getting there. It's been easier to stay off of it now that I'm back at my desk at work. I had fun with my Pluto outfits this trip! I did get a little flack from a few of the characters but for the most part they all loved my gear.

I'm pretty sure it's located there now because they use the same characters that are in Fantasmic. I'm interested to see who you did get to meet when you get that far in your TR.

Wow! Congrats on meeting Brer Fox, the Evil Queen, Timon and Genie. And throw in Minnie, Snow White, Jasmine AND PLUTO!!! What a score.

Lovely pictures from the Frozen singalong.

(And I hope your foot is feeling better).

It was an excellent selection of characters! My foot is getting there, much better now that I'm not on it all day.

I've been following you on your TR with you mom and decided to stop over here also. We were in WDW the same time as you were. I went with my daughter for a little mom/daughter time and we had a blast.

:welcome: Thanks for joining in! You'll have to look for yourself in the background of my pictures! I take enough of them. :rotfl:

Such a fun TR!

Looks like you had a great time at Character Palooza. Definitely a must-do for my next trip.

Overall, would you recommend the Frozen Sing-a-long? I'm debating on shelling out a FP+ for it for my next trip (provided that it's still around).

:welcome: Glad you joined in! I had a different Pluto ensemble for each day so you'll get to see some more coming up!

If you want to do the Character Palooza, I would recommend going to the web site "Kenny the Pirate" and downloading the app. The Palooza is not advertised any where and many of the CMs have no clue when or where it is.

I really enjoyed the Frozen Sing-a-long but I also loved the movie. When my Mom and I did it in October, it was well worth the FP+ because the standby line was so long that people were waiting through two shows to get in. I really didn't pay attention to how long the standby line was in December. I guess it would depend on the crowd levels when you are going.

Just loving your pictures! Brings back so many memories of our trip and I thought we had taken a lot. I can't believe we were there at the same time. Was in MK on Nov. 30th.

That's really cool that you were there at the same time! I wonder if we crossed paths and didn't even know it?

Love the meet and greet with Tink. It is fabulous and so is she. So glad you went ahead and saw her. We met a lot of characters also. My daughter is 23 and most of them gave her as much face time as they did the kids. And most of them always included me or at least asked if I would like to have a picture made. I can't believe that someone would just let their kids duke it out instead of taking her kids out of the show.

I was so annoyed with that family!

Hi Ariana! :wave2: Fellow solo traveler here and loving your TR so far! And I agree completely - solo trips are very freeing, indeed! Pop is also my favorite :goodvibes I love the way you decorated your room at Movies :thumbsup2

:welcome: Glad to have you here! I really love my solo trips and can't wait to take another one.

Something tells me you'll probably be back to Disney again before 2017 ;) At least I hope you are!

I wish but I don't think it's going to happen. We really need to do some work on our house this year. We need new windows and the whole inside needs painted. In 2016 though I will be doing something Disney, just not WDW. Mom, me, my brother and SIL are planning a trip to Disneyland! I'm still going back and forth about whether to do a Disney cruise or just WDW in 2017.

Ahhh, the purple street signs... you know you've arrived when you start seeing those... :cloud9:

Definitely feels like coming home to me!

That's a great idea to have the food delivery service. I should think about that for my May trip. I've been wondering how I can get some fruit and vegetables here and there during the week :rolleyes1 As for the cookie dough, I so would have eaten it as is :rotfl:

I really like having the food delivered. Especially when I'm alone. I don't mind eating by myself but since I eat pretty lightly for breakfast, it saves me a bit of money.

Wow, MK was decorated so beautifully for Christmas... I haven't been during Christmastime since 1997 so I'm always happy to see TRs during that time. Speaking of Christmas, what a thoughtful and sweet gift you got for your mom - I love the purse!

You should definitely try to get back! It's so beautiful that time of the year. My Mom loves her purse, she mentioned it to me again when I talked to her this weekend.

Yikes, I can't believe that you got smacked by the two boys beating on each other at the Tiki Room. What's the matter with people sometimes?! :confused3

I don't know but I was sure annoyed by them!

Your Dumbo pictures are amazing - so glowing and magical.

I wasn't sure I would like it when they moved Dumbo but the new area is so beautiful and I love it!

Wow!!! I can't believe you saw your Canadian friends again at Sci-Fi - what are the chances?! :goodvibes It's just Disney magic I suppose... ::yes::

Looking forward to more!

It was funny running into them again!

WOW! Awesome characters! so glad you were able to meet so many! It is a weird location?!?! I wonder why?
Ohh I cannot wait to read the new report!

It's in that location because they use the same CMs that do Fantasmic. I did get very lucky with the characters that were there.

Oh Those Glorious Osborne Lights Part 1

It was about 5:30 when I left the Frozen theater so I headed to the Streets of America to find a spot for the lighting of the Osborne Lights at 6 pm. The street wasn’t too crowded yet and I had no problem finding a good spot. I called Jim while I was waiting and watched as the street began to fill up.

The very first thing they did though was turn on the snow. I wasn’t even full dark yet as you can tell by the photo.

My spot was a little to the right of where they turned the lights on. Santa Goofy was there along with the family that was picked to flip the switch.

And then the lights were on!

Since I was right there, I hopped in line to get a PP picture. These turned out kind of dark and the photographer only took two pretty much identical photos.

I had about an hour before I could check in for the Dessert Party so I spent that time wandering through the lights taking pictures. I also Face-timed with Mom for a bit so she could see the lights and got more PP pictures. So here come lots and lots of pictures!

I found the purple cat quite easily this year and this is where I also stopped for the second set of PP pictures.

Once again they only took two identical photos but at least you can actually see me this time.

Oh Those Glorious Osborne Lights Part 2

Continued From Previous Post

I scoped out the area for the Dessert Party although I was still too early. It was at the end of the main street in the area where the Backlot Tour used to run.

I meandered down the side street where I found a Dinosaur (didn’t watch that show so I have no idea what his name is).

And the leg lamp from A Christmas Story.

I took a video with my cell phone because I could not figure out how to do one on my camera. I really need to get the book out and figure it out before I go on vacation again. Even though it’s pretty bad, here it is for you to see, just click on the picture below.

More pictures:

At a little bit before 7 pm, I headed back to the Dessert Party area to check in.

Up Next: Frozen Dessert Party
