How easy is it to get a cab at port?

Are they waiting or do I have to call one? I want to take a cab to a hotel in Cocoa beach after our cruise. I'm thinking it's not very far. The hotel has a shuttle which is $6 each x 4 people. I'm thinking a cab will probably cost about the same. (I think the hotel is across from or beside Ron Jon's).

I'm wondering the same thing....we sail into/out of Miami and have to get to a hotel near Fort Lauderdale airport after the cruise. A member of our party is flying out the same afternoon. I was wondering if I should prebook a limo to be there waiting in the interest of expediency. But the 'waiting' cost is costly should there be even the slightest delay. :confused3
