How Do You Get To Stay In The Cinderella Castle Suite?

Wasn't the plan for it to be living quarters for Walt and his family (like the apt overlooking Main St in DLR) ? I could have sworn I read that somewhere, I think they just kept the original plan for that area

Yes, it was, but he died before WDW opened and they never used it.

It became the central area for the telephone operators and then went empty for several years.

It makes me sad to know that "common folk" can't stay there but if your name is Neil Patrick Harris or Suri Cruise you can. Very frustrating to those of us who would LOVE a chance to stay a night in Cinderella Castle but never will because we are not a celebrity! :furious:

It wouldn't matter if they rented it out to the "common folk", I couldn't afford it anyway. :( One night in the Castle would cost more than my whole Disney vacation, I am sure.

Yes of course I remember the day like he was a member of the family (in a very real sense he was I'm old enough to be a member of the original MM club ;) )
and knew abt the phone operators but I was saying Disney Co kept with the original plan for the space not being snarky just wanted to know if I was I correct in what I thought I think its nice that was left in the plan

I don't...I wouldn't want to stay there. Can't ride any attractions and what not. You get there and you hit the sack. Fun. No thanks!

As has been noted many times, you can ride whatever ride you want as long as a Cast Member is with you.

Well, if you get asked sometime, would you send them my way? ;)

As a local contractor that has done a great deal of work at WDW, and in particular the Magic Kingdom, overnight...I can assure you this is not the case.

The rides are not operating all night for the castle guests to ride at their leisure.

An hour after the park is cleared of guests, you would be shocked at the activity going on inside the MK. And it's not just the workers...there are tons of vehicles driving all over as well. Everyone in hard hats and reflective vests. Streets are lit up like it's daytime. I doubt they would let guests walk around, even if escorted. Too dangerous, beleive it or not.

I have pictures of my personal vehicle parked on Main Street and driving through Tomorrowland.

While the rides do not operate, the background music is still on, and let me tell you, without the hustle and bustle of the large crowds of people, that music is LOUD....and annoying. Especially Tomorrowland. It will drive you crazy.

An hour prior to park open, as they are clearing the contractors out, and the custodial people have worked all night cleaning every square inch of the place, I will tell you that the Magic Kingdom is a peaceful and beautiful place...especially as the sun starts to come up.

I somewhat agree with this. These people have things happen to them and for them often because they can buy things that us "common folk" cannot. It would be great if Disney would randomly pick a family about 10 days before arrival or even upon check-in and let them know they will get to stay a night in the castle during their stay and which night.

The way I see it, the Castle Suite is just that; a suite. Like any suite or big room at one of the hotels, I'll never be able to afford them or stay at them. And that's alright. It's always been like that, so I don't mind. This just happens to be an ultra expensive suite. I don't think Disney needs to give "common folk" a chance at it...they don't do that for other suites in hotels, so I don't see them needing to do it here. Sure, I'd love to stay there, but I don't think they need to make exceptions this this room.

Except at other hotels, most people just can't afford the big suites. They still are able to stay if they want. That's not the case with the castle; even if you have the money there is no way to stay.

There are certain things in life that I just won't be able to do because I'm not a celebrity and I don't have millions like some of them do. It's fine. I don't care and I'm not going to let it bother me.

Life is unfair and people get some advantages while others get other advantages. It'd be cool, sure. But nbd.

I don't mind that some people get the chance to stay there. It would be neat if Disney would do some type of raffle for the suit when it's free. The first 100 guest to enter the magic kingdom get there name entered in a draw or something. Like the lottery it would be fun to have a chance :confused3

Your comments are really interesting. Thanks for sharing, I came to the park with our h.s. band at 5 a.m. And we drove right up behind Space Mountain and there were many cars back there. That was before I knew about the offices on Main Street and the Utilidors. It was awesome to walk down main Street with the sun just starting to come up. The kids took a picture all 125 members of the band in front of the castle. Great picture and we were great full for WDW inviting us to do this.

They did this for Year of The Disney Magic. Someone was chosen each day. They got to be in the 3 o'clock parade. Maybe they will bring something like that back for the 50th celebration.

love this sneek peek "inside" - thank you for sharing! Need any Civil Engineers at your company? Sounds like fun - with earplugs perhaps!

I am not feeling sorry for celebrities. However, as much as we may pine for the chance to stay in the Castle, I'm pretty sure they would enjoy to have a normal day in the MK without a mob scene, people staring and people getting too close to their children.

This offers me some perspective, because while I would love to stay at the Castle, I will love even more having an ordinary Disney day.
