Holy Cow!!! Here we go again, another 8000.

My husband was laid off the first part of Dec. with NOTHING. No severance package, nothing. There are no jobs available. The only thing we seem to see over and over are nursing positions. The recession has hit us personaly and it's getting worse. It's starting to effect our lives in a big way.

Oh don't worry. According to some posters on the DisBoards, you only need to choose not to participate in the recession and all will be well!:thumbsup2

:lmao:

If only it were that easy

My DH was put on salary which means no more OT even though he works 12-13 hour days, this means a drop of about 6,000 + per year in income. 401 k matches are most likely going to be stopped. DH is working more hours because all hourly workers got cut to 32 hours a week and 5 were laid off. He works for a small company so this leaves him 13 production workers. Before Christmas there were 23, 5 people got laid off the week before Christmas. He has been with this place for 25 years, this is the first time they have laid off and/or cut hours.

My job has a freeze on raises. So for bonuses are still in place and they just hired some people so doesn't look like we will have layoffs.
