HH Questions

We are planning a visit to HH in July. We were not able to secure all the nights we wanted and while we are on the waitlist, we don't feel real confident about it all coming through.
We have been searching for other accomodations that don't require a full week's stay to supplement. A couple of the rentals, especially those on Palmetto Dunes area, mention that they have access to the Disney Beach House and/or beach.
Does anyone know if others do in fact have access to our Beach House - or -
Even though we won't be staying at DVC the entire time, being members, do we still have access to the Beach House and/or beach there?

The beach is a public beach and there is public access at the beach house with parking, but there is no access to the Beach House unless you are guest at the DVC resort. Your room id serves as a key to the gate.

The beach is great and there are several hotels, condos and timeshares in the vicinity, but only DVC guests may use the Beach House itself- although others do try and are often "escorted" from the property.

We are in the same boat. We're going in July also and are on the never ending wait list for 2-3 extra days. We are going to Savannah for a couple of days before going to HH if these don't come through. It's only about 40 minutes away and a beautiful city. Savannah is very historic has really great riverfront area as well as the normal southern historic sites from the War of Northern Agression as we still refer to the incident. Good luck!

I was told by the resort that you can use the facilities before your room is ready on the day of checkin and until 4 on checkout day. This includes the beach house. I plan on doing this as we live nearby. I guess this works like Disney where you can checkin and go to the parks. Palmetto Dunes has a beach house and an additional access and parking area next to the Disney Beach House. You can also access the restrooms on the outside and order from an outside takeout window at the restaurant at the Disney's Beach House. All of this is on the Palmetto Dunes side. You cannot get into the main area as it is locked.
