HH- Opinions and Weather- Memorial Day Time

We normally go to Hilton Head for about a week over Fathers Day, and have been happy with the weather, pool temps, atmosphere, activities etc. That being said, some of our family would like to consider switching to a vacation that starts right before memorial day and runs through that week at HH. Should we figure on nice temperatures, plentiful DVC activities for the family, and similar chance or rain to what we tend to experience mid/late June? I know its only a couple of weeks difference, but was hoping to hear some past experience for vacations that are around Memorial Day.

Yes, you will find similar weather and activities compared to June.

The biggest difference will be the ocean tempurature which will be a few degrees cooler in May than what you are accustomed to for June. The crowds will also be lower in May than what you have experienced in June.

Wish we could do the same week next summer but our school system is getting out early this yr for summer break. We really enjoyed that week in 2010. Plenty of resort activities, pool was great, we really enjoyed the beach!!! Super time to go.

water will be really cold compared to later in the summer. Thats going to be the biggest difference, well and the crowds will be a bit smaller.

We were at HH in early May this year and the ocean temps were in the mid 70's. By late June the surf temp was 85 and remained there into mid September. We are at HH right now and the ocean temp is still 73.

Memorial Day surf temps will be around 80.
