Who cares if locals want to come and waste their time at Disneyland? Do you think you are more important than people who just want to hang out at Disneyland? You are not more entitled to a Disneyland day/trip than the locals. While it's annoying that teenagers are constantly taking pictures in dark rides, I don't really care if they are doing it in line or standing by the castle or on rides like the Carousel or swings, they're just having fun. They're teenagers.
Also, I have found tourists are the ones who stop in the middle of the walkway because they don't know where they need to go, where to sit for parades/fireworks, where to eat. I have also found that tourists are quite rude compared to the locals and about the locals "I paid (whatever amount of money) I deserve to be here more than you! I deserve to sit in this spot more than you! (even though that person has been sitting there longer) I don't have to stand up to watch PTN, I paid a lot of money to be here! (after a CM asked someone to stand up because they weren't on the curbside row, which is the only row where you can sit)
But not all tourists are like that, some of them are really kind and are so excited to be there. I'm sure there are locals that have been rude as well, but just trying to pin it on the locals is unrealistic. You are going to run into a lot of rude people especially at Disney because they have this "I paid a lot of money to be here and screw everyone else" mentality. You just have to not let it effect you unless they actually attack you/your child.
This week is a busy week because everyone who has been blocked out gets to finally return to Disneyland, I'd say in a few weeks it will be better.
Sorry your trip didn't go as you wanted it.
