this week disneyland changed the stars n cars parade.

before the parade had a stop and there was a show. what was really great that when some characters were on stage the others were having meet and greets with behind the stage. you could take pictures, sining autographs and have great moments with characters.

now it is only a parade.

on a dutch forum we are starting a petition to get the old parade with stop back.

I'll happily sign your petition - we had the same no-stopping parade at the beginning of November. I was really disappointed and felt like I had just wasted my time waiting for it, completely pointless in the new format to me.

we had some fab chacter interaction at this back in june, got some lovely photos of LO with some the the chacters. shame they have stopped it. they might be bringing a new parade out for next year for the 20th cleabrations

according to various sources, the show (on the stage in front of Stictch/Playhouse Disney live on stage) was cancelled and stars'n'cars reverted to its original state of "parade only"

Apparently, the show part was removed due to complaints from guests.
Many guests are said to have found it hard to view the show at this specific location.
So it seems it's already a petition that led to the removal of the show.

I must admit, we never saw the Show part of it in May (as if you didn't know what was going on, not being able to see past the crowds, you didn't know that the show was basically impossible to see from most locations (you were basically at the back of the stage, as I recall).

However - what you did get around the back was all the characters that could, getting out of their car and signing etc. It was a BIT of a random scrum of people trying to get to the front of the barrier, but less so than most random meets, and we met (albeit briefly) some characters we'd otherwise not. (The wife nearly had a Fit when one of the drivers offered to pass Mary Poppins our autograph book! That's not a character we think does any other kind of meet!)

When we went last week, we purposely Just watched the cars go past towards the stage area rather than face No Show & Scrum, looks like we avoided disappointment!

But, realistically, unless you know otherwise, I'm not sure you go along expecting anything but Stars in Cars, do you? At least it all feels smaller, closer and more personal than the big parades?

To me though, it seems like a waste of effort and time just bringing the cars out on a loop and then back in again. Cars and Stars in its earlier format was brilliant, we would watch it as many times in a visit as we could, and not from the front of the stage either :goodvibes.

Its not even a parade now - it has no show stops, no interaction, nothing. It must take all of 10 minutes from start to finish, 2 minutes passing you. Previous parades (even the High School Musical ones) in the Studios have included the parade bit, character stops, and routines. Theres nothing in the Cars and Stars parade now, its just a drive-past.

I was very disappointed.

that is very dissapointing. we have always enjoyed stars n cars, i probably wont even bother to watch it just as a parade. we used it for the character interaction
