This is a potential resale of 100 that I'm looking at buying. It's a December use year and they have 248 available now. That's made up of 54 banked from 2012, 100 from 2013 and 96 borrowed from 2014.

I know that the borrowed points from 2014 can't be returned to the account, but what would the expiration of these 248 points be? When would I have to use them by?

YIKES!!! I could be wrong... but from my understanding, they would expire the last day of the use year the points were banked and borrowed into which would be November 30, 2013.

The current Dec UY is 2012 - If those 54 points are indeed from that UY and have been banked into the 2013 UY you have until Nov 30 2014. If they were 2011 points banked into 2012 UY you have until Nov 30 2013. The 100 from 2013 can be banked up until end of July 2014 since they are not actually current until Dec 1, 2013 and would be available for use until Nov 2015. The borrowed ones must be used by Dec 1 this year. I would get the broker to clarify just exactly where these points are from at this time. A December UY can be confusing in that you get them at the end of the year they are allocated to.

You would be in your 2012 UY until Nov 30, 2013.

The 248 must be used by Nov 30, 2014.

Double check the info as whether the points are in teh 2012 vs 2013 UY would be a $2500 difference.
