Help! Another Tevas question

I have been reading the posts re: Tevas sandals and they sound great. Can anyone tell me if they are just as comfortable and supportive as walking shoes with lots of padding? I get pretty heavily padded walkers for Disney, but would love to trade them in for some sandals. I really need them to be comfortable. Bad feet! Thanks!

Only 12 weeks to go!!!!!!

I'm also interested in a good, supportive sandal. My physical therapist recommended Easy Spirit tennis shoes for me because of the support and durability. I have recurring back and hip problems and love sandals, but not supposed to wear them.

Try looking at their website

www.teva.com

They show there shoes there, and they also have a link to stores in your zip code so this way you could try them on and see. The one thing I noticed is they have a lot of styles and price ranges, hoping to go shopping late next week, I'll try and let you know what I find out since I had the same question too! We'll help each other out on this one!!! :)

I tried on the Tevas yesterday. The one that gave me the most support was cheaper, but didn't have the nice straps and I had the opposite problem with the expensive ones! Bummer. Anyway, I read on here about the Chaco sandals which apparently offer more support and were designed by a podiatrist. The closest store is 1 hr away, but I'm going to drive over and try them. I have back and hip problems and need great support!

I have posted endorsements for Chacos. TinkerbellRules, I hope the one hour trip is worth your time - it was for me! The only thing I would caution is to call ahead to see if they have a selection in your size. The Z1 model has the most arch support. I have wider feet and purchased a men's pair. They feel great! Good luck.

the teva sight even has it where they notify you of sales going on. and I get the quarterly catalog in the mail now as well. I just bought a really nice pair that was on sale from them! gotta love them!

and as for easy spirit shoes they aren't good for you. ask any podiatrist. they are made by the same makers of nine west shoes. there is nothing supportive in them whatsoever. I have very bad knees and no cartilage now and my right heel I have that plantar fasciatis(SP?) and was told by physical therapists that they are one of the worst shoes to get. do a search on the web about shoes and who has good support and who doesn't. its pretty interesting reading.

Actually, my orthopedic surgeon recommended the Rockport tennis shoes, but I had already purchased my Easy Spirits and I love them. My PT (20 yrs experience) recommended the Easy Spirits since she wears them plus I like all white shoes (clinical looking). Both of them stated my Keds were the worst shoes out there. My daughter's Nike insoles were torn only after 3 days of use! That made me mad :(

I'm going to try the Chacos and hopefully it will be worth the drive. I, too, have wide feet (at least one is wide, other is regular) because of fallen arches. My barely existing arches were over the side of the Tevas. I noticed on the Chaco site, they make a wider version as well. I will call before I make the trip. Thanks for making me aware of them. No one around here has heard of them.

Do you have the website that contains the shoe info? I'd be interested to see it.

Thanks!
