Have you ever been INJURED on a ride?

Not on ride, but an incident we had back in 2005 at Downtown Disney. Sister was about 6 at the time and a massive animal lover, so when we spotted a mouse darting about her first instinct was to pick it up and begin petting it. This went well for about 2 seconds before the mouse decided it had had enought and bit her hand.

Needless to say there was a fair amount of blood, so mum ended rushing to the nearest shop yelling "My daughters been bitten by a mouse". The poor cm she got to first was obviously suprised and ended up asking "Was it Mickey?"

Ended up going to Celebration for a good few hours but it makes for a fantastic line for my sister who can claim she was bitten by a mouse at Disney World :lmao:

Not a ride, but my dd and I both had trouble in the TL wave pool!
I got thrown and ripped the bottom of my foot open on the floor of the pool / that hurt for a couple of days, especially having to do all that walking on it.
But the really scary thing was dd almost drowning. She floated out on a tube to where the waves were pretty high .... I swam next to her. Her friend came along and grabbed the tube and dd went into the water. She wasn't a strong enough swimmer for those crazy waves. I was in over my head and kept trying to hoist her back onto the tube, but she kept just pulling me under .... So when I felt like I was running out of steam, I just grabbed her around the chest and started swimming to shallow water. When I could finally stand and carry her a guy looked over and asked if I was ok, lol. I said yeah! Now I am! No one even noticed we were in trouble. Be careful on that wave pool!

Both of my DD's have had their injuries at AKV. My older DD was almost 6 and she was out on the Arusha overlook at Jambo. She was looking at the little animal information thing (the triangle-shaped thing that spins so you can read about the animals) and I was looking at the savanna, standing right next to her. All of a sudden, I heard her scream. I looked down and her fingers were stuck in the device. The were wedged between the back and the edge of the part that rotates. I tried to spin it in reverse to get her hand out, but it wouldn't move. Some bystanders heard the commotion and came over to help. It took three of us, but we eventually pried her hand free. I went to the front desk, explained what happened and showed them her hand. Her fingers were bruised and swollen so they gave us some ice and offered to call an ambulance. (* I know they were well-meaning, but I giggled a little since I have been a paramedic for 15 years:rotfl:) I didn't want or expect any compensation, but I wanted to make sure they were aware that there is enough of a gap on those things that is big enough to get a finger in and small enough to get it stuck.

The next year, we were at AKV Kidani. My younger daughter (age 4 at the time) slipped and fell by the pool. It wouldn't have been a big deal, except she was by a raised platform (I think it is the entry for a small slide? I haven't been there in 4 years so I cannot picture it clearly.) When she slipped, she smacked her forehead on the edge of the platform. I was about 10 feet away and saw her do it. She was completely dazed by the time I got to her, not crying, and her eyes were looking right through me. There were two lifeguards that came over immediately. One looked at her and briskly turned and walked off. The other one stayed with us while I carried DD over to the lounge chair. By then, she'd started sobbing and was returning to normal. I went in to "work" mode and did an assessment on her. Other than the ginormous bruise that was developing on her head, she appeared to be nothing more than dazed. The other lifeguard returned with an ice pack and told me that she'd called for the paramedics. I told her not to worry about it because we weren't going to the hospital anyways. Other than take a blood pressure, there wasn't anything that they could check on her that I wasn't able to do myself. I assured them that I would keep a close eye on her and I told them that I would let the front desk know if we needed to seek medical attention. She had a whopper headache and slept great that night. The next day, she was fine, except for the goose egg on her forehead.

We're headed back to Kidani Village this October (first time since the accident back in 2010!) and DD has assured me she will be super-careful at the pool:goodvibes.

Not Disney, but....

Every time I ride Vanish Point, the speed slide at Water Country USA, I get red marks all over my back. But it doesn't really hurt-it's just like 'ow!' for a second.:p
I get a weird-shaped blister from the water sandals I wear at Water Country every time.

Once I kinda squished my arm between the restraint and the side of the car on Loch Ness Monster at Busch Gardens Williamsburg. It didn't hurt, but there was a bruise there the next day. Oops!

(I DON'T THINK THOSE THINGS REALLY COUNT AS 'INJURIES' THOUGH LOL;))

On my first Disney trip in 2006, I had a minor incident at Blizzard Beach. The very first ride my group went to was Teamboat Springs, which is a large group raft ride. I remember the ride itself being a blast! We had six people in the raft including two solid men, two above average sized women, a pre-teen boy and myself. I'm not sure if the weight was not distributed well or how it happened, but at the end of the slide the raft folded inward sending my face toward someone's knee across from me. I blacked out a bit, but got out of the raft with a little help. I noticed my nose was bleeding and at some point I blacked out again and remember being carried to first aid. I think they gave me something to drink and maybe a snack. No broken nose, but a possible concussion. Sadly that is the only thing I've ever done at any Disney water park. We all went back to the room to rest, but I felt fine aside from a slightly sore and swollen nose, so I ventured back out and enjoyed the rest of my trip! I've been back to Disney 7 times since the first, and I've yet to try the water parks again!

OMG!! Glad you were able to enjoy the rest of the trip at least!!!

Only one that springs to mind, its self inflicted though.

Back in 1999 me and my parents were heading to DHS, I was eating a burger and fries while drinking a fizzy drink, when we spotted a character meet with Eeyore. I rushed to finish the food and ended up with really bad chest pains.
A CM escorted us to the first aid room to give me some pepto bismol......for bad indigestion :-/ the lovely CM got some character autographs back stage.

DD & I both had scrapes on our legs from the wave pool at TL.

I had a huge bruise on the underside of one of my arms from trying to keep a hand on DD, who was riding in front of my on Space Mtn. It didn't hurt & I didn't notice it until a few days later, but it looked like I had been in a mean fight! Evidently, my arm was beating against the side of the "spaceship" repeatedly.

Not at WDW, but I damn near got a concussion riding Indiana Jones at Disneyland Paris. It's one of the coasters where the restraint comes down over your shoulders and the side of my head slammed into the restraint going around one of the turns. Temple of Peril, indeed.

It wasn't in Disney but on our Disney vacation. We were staying in a rental, had just arrived, & I was unpacking. I asked our DS (12att) to watch our DD (2att). Then I hear the sound of someone falling down the stairs. As I ran, I see our DD falling on the ceramic flooring on her head. I thought she had broken her neck, thank God she was so young. I swooped her up & she finally began crying. She was ok, looked like she had been beat up, red & purple marks on her forehead, nose, under eyes, the works. She recovered quickly, but it still makes me sick thinking about. It's been almost 10yrs since that happen & I'm still hesitate to let our DS watch her, lol.

Well, not Disney related, but The Voyage Wooden Roller Coaster I've been struck by a bird, and cracked a rib? Does that count?

Over many trips, I've probably had a few bumps from hitting things (arm rests in Star tours come to mind).

The biggest incident while I was there was at Disneyland. Mid afternoon one day we were walking through California Adventure and there was a page on the loudspeakers for somebody to call guest services or some such thing. We commented we'd never heard a page before.

Turns out that that was the time when there was the fatal accident on BTMR. We're assume the page was the emergency signal.

Back in 2007 I had gotten second ear piercings about six weeks before coming to WDW and I still had my original earrings in, but after riding Rock 'n' Roller Coaster the bead in one of them fell out and the piercing was bleeding a little bit. No matter how hard I try to keep my head back against the headrest during that ride, I still manage to bang my ears on the shoulder restraints. I checked it out in the bathroom and everything was fine so it turned out to be an excuse to buy some Mickey earrings in the park!

Just returned last week. My nephew fell getting out of "doom buggy" in Haunted Mansion onto the moving walkway. CMs did stop the walkway but just stood and watched while several other guests ran to help me get him up off the floor. My nephew has several disabilities but is not in a wheelchair and we were refused when we asked to use wheel chair entrance to attraction like we had done in the past.
Not one CM came over to offer assistance or even ask if he was ok! At first he said he was ok but wanted to go back to resort by the time we got back to WL he said his back was hurting badly. I reported incident to manager at WL they did offer to have us taken to a medical facility but he became very agitated so I decided to wait a bit. Instant ice packs were brought up to our room and I gave him Tylenol. We were unable to go on any other rides but we did see a few of the shows. When we got home he complained again about back pain and ended up being sent over to hospital for X-rays which indicated a compression fracture in lower vertebra! Go back to orthopedist tomorrow.

Once at Chef Mickeys, Goofy stepped down hard on my Mom's foot and broke her toe, and that was thru sneakers! She was OK to walk around the parks and all, but she never liked Goofy after that.

My dad dislocated his shoulder on Alien Encounter (now Stitches Great Escape). The shoulder bar came down too far at first, then when it locked later in the ride and came down farther his shoulder (already weak from a prior dislocation) popped right out! He wasn't hurt badly, but they moved our room so we stayed club level for the rest of the trip.

Well, I hesitate to add to this thread, but...

I picked up a 'lovely' case of Ciguatera Fish Poisoning at Raglan Road.

It was not Disney's fault, nor that of Raglan Road. It was the fault of the fisherman who caught 'my' fish during an illegal 'red tide' fishing. But I will never ever EVER E.V.E.R. again eat 'fish'. (As in unidentified 'fried fish').

I have N.E.V.E.R. been so sick in my life. It was almost a month before I WASN'T praying for our dear Lord to take me. My poor husband and kids.

Symptoms came on within 2 hours of our special 'extra Disney Day' time at DTD.

We had a 13 hour car ride home. I 'made' them stop so I could 'be sick' in a hotel as opposed to in the car.

I love Raglan Road, but I'm a 'bit' leary of ordering the fish and chips again!

Still, I assert it was NOT the fault of Disney OR Raglan Road.
