Have you ever been INJURED on a ride?

Only when my heart and stomach flew into my throat the first time i ever rode ToT! :rotfl:

In all seriousness though, either me or someone in my family has gotten hurt(i am a klutz and my 6 year has balance issues) we just make sure we have our first aid kit handy ;)

Many, many years ago, my finger got pretty banged up when the monorail door shut on it. I was actually still going through the doorway when they decided to shut the doors.

We went to first aid just to get some ice and the lady there said that the door couldn't have closed on my finger. Um, a swollen purple finger indicated otherwise! No big deal though, we went on our way with my ice. :)

The only injury I've ever really had was at TL a few years ago in the wave pool, it ripped one of my toenails off. To be honest I didn't even feel any pain, it was my friend who noticed it- first aid just wrapped it up so it didn't get infected or anything.

I got tipped out of a tube at Typhoon lagoon on the lazy river by some horrid kid. I took a chunk out of my foot by my small toe and graze my knee and whole top of my foot. CM didn't do anything but meant i couldn't go back in the water as it was bleeding then releasing plasma goop.

I have heard this happening to other people too!! I'm like terrified of monorail doors. And elevator doors. But mostly monorail...

I mean, please stand clear of the doors, ok.... but please don't shut them on people! :sad2:

Snakes don't know what resort they are in. Florida can have such snakes anywhere. .!

:rotfl2:so true!

I went WHACK into the roof of the tram and splat onto the asphalt.

The tram CM calmly got on the mic and said "And that is a perfect example of how not to disembark, ladies and gentlemen."

I laughed and waved from the ground, got up, bowed, and got applause from most of the tram for a spectacular performance. I got a good headache off that thing though. The thud was audible all the way down the tram when I hit the roof.

:rotfl: very funny remark by the Cm. and thank goodness you have a sense of humor.

at the restaurant where I work, I was waiting on a big group frm Turner Camp (Turners is a gymnastic organization.)

as I was retrieving a dirty plate, my foot got stuck in a ladies handbag handle. I tripped, jumped around a bit, did a couple leaps. and somehow managed to not fall and not drop the plate. the guy at the head of the table quickly quipped " I give it a 9.5!"

In DLRP I got whiplash on Space Mountain. I had an egg shaped lump on my neck, and couldn't move my neck/upper back so it ruined the rest of the day in the park for me! When I got home and went to the doctors (3 days later) I was told I had meningitis!! Luckily convinced the doctor otherwise, but he then gave me painkillers which violently disagreed with me, so I ended up in a pretty poor state from that little incident.

When we were standing in line for Soarin', a man struck my 3 year neice across the face. He thought it was his own kid. Apart from our anger that he would treat his own kid that way, we were beyond furious that someone made our baby cry at WDW!

I did not personally get injured but my grandmother did the last time we went. The little "island" of raised concrete at the very beginning of Main street in between like the barber shop and Tonys was where. She tripped on the curb and fell flat on her face RIGHT before the Electric Parade. She had a badly busted lip two bloody knees and cracked a tooth. I had to go and find a CM and they got her a wheelchair. I asked to go to first aid to simply clean out her cuts. The CM was very nice and helpful but once we got to first aid, they were very short and rude. Actually, it did not bother me at all! They gave us peroxide and wipes and band aids. I understand the rudeness. Imagine how many people they get in there trying to sue them for injuries on a daily basis. They did what they had to do but I see it as being sort of like a car accident "never admit fault". From a business standpoint they are really just saving their butts because if they act "too" concerned I can see a lot of people just running with it and trying to get what they can out of them. Just my opinion though. If it was something like a CM not securing a ride correctly or a ride throwing someone off of it then I could see a reason for them to be extremely helpful but imagine how many people fall everyday!

Yes unfortunately. A few years ago my family sat on the back row of the Safari ride in AK. I was on the left side and near the end of the ride the vehicle hit a huge rut or hole and my daughter next to me bounced a good foot off the seat, as did I. She came down hard on her bottom but I came down sideways and my ribs made contact with the side of the row. It stunned me and knocked the wind out of me. It took me a while to alert my husband only two seats away. We pulled up to deboard and I could barely slide out. I sat down immediately and the C M came over, not to see what was happening but to ask us to move on. I showed her my side which was red and she said I should go to first aid and get some ice. She also disputed the bump could have happened and accused me of leaning out of the vehicle. We left immediately and I was done for the day. I had a nasty bruise and it hurt to breath deeply for about a month but I don't think I cracked a rib. Things happen, but I was disappointed in the CMs only thought - that we needed to vacate her space immediately! I have not ridden on that since.

Does being scarred (mentally) for life count? ...after going on Stitch's Great Escape!:rotfl:

My DD who had just turned 3 was getting on the tram part of the Backlot Tour at DHS about 2 years ago. We wanted her to go in first so that she would get wet in the canyon since it was her first time on the ride. Well, she just kept walking and didn't know that the other side of the tram also lifts up and there is a step there (and I didn't remember either:confused3). She went down the step and bumped her face on the tram door. Busted her lip open. Of course Mommy (Me) freaks out, starts counting to make sure she has all her teeth still, make sure nothing is broken, etc. Within in 5-10 minutes, the bleeding stops and she has a tiny cut on the inside of her lip...she is fine, laughing and playing again. Me, on the other hand, need a new shirt because I grabbed her after she fell & all the blood got on me! Oh well, I never liked that shirt anyways!:) But now that I think about it, NONE of the CMs seemed to notice the commotion, and we were in the very 1st car by the driver:sad2:

He hit her on the face on purpose? There would have been one very serious injury that day!

I was stung by a wasp on my way into Adventureland when I was in high school. It hurt pretty bad, but luckily First Aid was just a few steps away. Got some ice and a band aid and they even gave me some Nurse Minnie stickers to take with me. My mom put them in the photo album for that trip and still has them.

I gashed my arm open on a slide at River Country when I was a kid and still have the scar on my arm to show for it.

My then DS (3) pushed his little sister (18 months) off of a arcade game in the Poly and she bumped her head so badly that they called the paramedics. She was ok, but the bump was huge for our whole trip.

At least it was a free (life-long) souvenir?? :flower3:

:scared1:WOW! Did you press charges? What did the CMs do? Was he escorted out of the park?

I hurt myself on Humunga Kowabunga at Typhoon Lagoon last week. I did a search on the DIS to see if this happens to anyone else and came across this thread from a few years ago. I never would have thought to explain it like this, but this pretty much sums it up. :scared1: :rotfl:

...a few years ago I went to Typhoon Lagoon on the Humunga Kowabunga and inadvertently uncrossed my legs going down. (Whoops!). Let me just say, doing this is bad...very bad. When I hit the water, it felt like Hulk Hogan had just punched me in the butthole :rotfl: I also couldn't sit down for an hour. My sister has since renamed the ride "Humunga Buttunga :)

Did anybody else accidentally do this and suffer the consequences?
