How is the dinner at Goofy's Kitchen? Food and character interaction...
:) Thanks!!

We tried Goofy's for dinner in April 2010. As for our family, we decided that we prefer the breakfast buffet. There wasn't quite as much variety at the dinner food-wise, and the night we were there we only saw a few characters, whereas we are used to seeing many during the breakfast. That being said, I've heard many people praise the dinner.

We enjoyed it. But food wise we prefer breakfast. We actually do a late breakfast closer to lunch time.

Goofy's dinner is very enjoyable. Great selection of food and characters. One evening we had four Prnicess', as well as a host of characters. A little less crowded than breakfast so we had a few minutes more to spend with each character. A lot of photos and autographs, as well as some good food. I like dinner better than breakfast...:cool1:

We went in January 2009 and as far as I remember we did like the food. I can't remember now anymore what we ate, but I seem to remember there being a great variety and it tasting quite good!

Character interaction was good too (we were a table of all adults), we had Chip, Dale, Belle, Gaston, Pinnochio, and of course Goofy himself all come visit us at the table and take photos with us!

What we didn't like (and maybe we just got unlucky) is that we had to wait 50 min PAST our dinner reservation time, which is just crazy I think!

I just did the Goofy's Kitchen dinner last month. I am so used to doing the breakfast buffet there, and I had not been to the dinner buffet in years and years, so I was not sure how I would like it or if I would like it.

It was great! Of course, everyone will have a different opinion depending on their own preferences and the circumstances on any given night, but my table of 8 people really enjoyed it (including a couple of character meal first-timers!).

We had a 6:30 p.m. reservation on a Monday night, but we showed up before 6 p.m. and were seated almost immediately.

Goofy was the character photo op at the entrance, so we stopped and got our photo with him, then made our way to our table.

The character interaction was steady and wonderful. Aside from Goofy at the entrance, we saw Pluto, Chip, Dale, Minnie, Belle and Cinderella. A couple of them came back to see us more than once.

My friend's 4-year-old son was in heaven. He loved the characters. But the characters were also great with the adult children at the table too!;)

As for food, I had small portions of the roasted chicken, the pot roast and the roast pork - all of which were delicious! The mashed potatoes were better than I expected them to be. The fruit salad was good. My friends enjoyed their food (which included the P, B & J pizza, various salads, assorted side dishes, the spaghetti and other items). My friend said her desserts were decent.

I think I may still be partial to the Goofy's breakfast because I am so accustomed to it, but I would definitely do the dinner again!:thumbsup2

We have done Goofy's Kitchen many times and have always enjoyed it.
The characters are always different, the last time we saw : Pluto at our photo op before we were seated, Goofy, Minnie, Chip, Dale, Cinderella, Snow White, Mulan and Genie!

The characters always take time with the kids and since it is a bit slower than breakfast they came back to our table several times. Chip and Dal of course are the funnest. They plopped right down in one of the seats and sat for while making us all laugh!

The food is very good also. They have a large variety of salads and fruits. There was the "adult" section that included wonderful mashed potatoes and gravies, green beans, mixed sauteed vegetables, rice pilaf, pot stickers, carved pork roast, carved turkey breast, and carved prime rib ( I especially like this because they will grill it if asked to cook it well :0)

There is a "Children's buffet" that my kids love! P&J pizza, corn on the cob, hot dogs, macaroni and cheese pizza, spaghetti, chicken nuggets, and popcorn shrimp.

Any one can eat at wither buffet, doesnt matter :)

The desserts are always a hit with my family! There was worms and dirt cups, jello cups with a chocoalte mickey head , cookies, brownie, cupcakes, cobblers, bread pudding, eclairs, cheese cake bites, and ice cream station with toppings or cones.

We asked for some cookies to go and our server brought back a stack in paper napkins for us to take...great for later!

Have a wonderful time, remember something for autographs...we used a white pillow case and fabric pens. I took lots of pictures then added them to the pillowcase when we got home...a wonderful tip I got her on the DIS:love:

We have had both the breakfast and dinner buffet at Goofy's--and we like the dinner better. I think we are more "dinner" people, though.

The prime rib is always good! Very good salad bar, too. I loved all of the salad items like honey-pecans, bacon bits (real bacon), and tons of veggies.

My kids love the food--the pizzas, spaghetti, etc...

They usually have one fish item too--the last time we went it was a fillet of sole in a lemon/butter sauce which was delicious.

For dessert they have ice cream sundae making station, bread pudding, cupcakes, chocolate covered strawberries, pies, etc. Lots of good fresh fruit as well.

We love the character interaction at goofy's. I think it is the best character meal choice out of all of the restaurants. We have always been seated right away with our reservations, too.

Lisa:)

We prefer dinner to breakfast. We found the characters seem to hang around longer, we get a little more attention, and we usually average 10+ characters. The food is good. Service is usually very good. Breakfast, we always feel a little rushed.

We went to dinner at Goofy's Kitchen just a few weeks ago. It was awesome!

The character interaction with the kiddos was fantastic (MUCH better than we ever have at Ariel's Grotto with 10+ visits). Goofy was at the entrance, and we saw Pluto, Dale, Belle, Minnie, and Mad Hatter. We had extended visits and dancing with Pluto and Dale. Hatter was also fantastic and had the cutest private tea party with my 3yo daughter. Character interaction was a 10+++ for me!

I thought the food was good. Some items were average, but I thought the caprese salad and green chile corn chowder were fantastic! Dessert was delicious, too.

Although I had been to Goofy's Kitchen before, this was the first visit for my husband and kiddos... we'll definitely be back sooner rather than later. :thumbsup2

we have done goofy kitchen twice for dinner and have always enjoyed it and the food is great along with the number of characters that are there! I think we might try the breakfast time during our fall trip this year.

Been twice, nice variety of food. I am not much for characters, but there were quite a few going around.

We went there for dinner on New Year's Eve.

Personally we thought the food was very good. There were a lot of options that were geared toward adults (pot roast, NY strip, shrimp cocktail and the chef's special) and others that were clearly geared toward the kids (peanut butter and jelly pizza, gummy worm desert). I'm not going to lie. I did have some of the mac and cheese and it was very good. I thought there were a lot of offerings in the salad bar as well.

The character interaction was good. We saw Goofy at the entrance, Minnie, Pluto, Chip, Dale, Alice, Mad Hatter and Brer Bear. Alice sat down at our table and played with both our boys. Our DS 1 wasn't so keen on the characters but he loved Alice. Goofy actually stopped at our table a few times on his way out the door. He actually escorted us to our table which my DS 3 loved.

Based on some of the other posts people have seen princesses. I wish we would have. :( I have two boys so I don't get much princess time. princess:

We were sitting where the characters enter/exit the restaurant. My 3 year old kept saying "wait Pluto where are you going?" We told him that Pluto had to go to the potty. After about the 5th time he went in/out my DS said, "wow, he must have drank a lot!" We laughed out loud. Then my DS said he had to go potty. My husband stood up to take him and my son ran for the character door. We had to tell him they went to a special bathroom. It was so funny.

The one thing that I thought was strange was that at Breakfast w/ Minnie each child was given a balloon. I saw a few tables with balloons at Goofy's. I inquired with the server. She brought them for us but we ended up being charged $1.50 each. Not that it broke the bank (way less than buying one in the park) but I was surprised that it wasn't included in the cost of my dinner and that the server didn't tell me there would be a fee before she brought them for the kids.

Goofy's Dinner is a family favorite for birthday celebrations. We decided to give it a go for a non-celebration in late November and it was awesome! I was concerned that we may not get the same level of attention, but that was not the case. Our character interaction was THE BEST! We saw Baloo, Pluto, Minnie, Snow White and Mulan (a first for our family). The princesses chatted with my girls for so long...what a treat. As for the food, there's always something good for each of us. DH likes to complain about the food quality at DLR (except the Napa Rose), but he's always eating at Goofy's. He went back 4 times for the carved NY steak. I'm trying to figure out how we can make it work again for our upcoming trip. Enjoy!!

We did Goofy's this past Tuesday evening. We had a great time. Saw several characters - Perla, Minnie, Balou, Mad Hatter, Goofy, Pluto.

Food was good, for buffet. Corn Chowder was amazing! Lots of choices. My daughter had a great time with the characters. They were all very interactive with her.

We have done both and now do manly breakfast because it fits our schedule better and is much quieter since most people seem not to be early risers. Food has been excellent for us(buffet) at either time.

Hi all! Does anyone happen to have the link handy to any pictures of dinner offerings at GK?

We had dinner last June, my daughter was 10 at the time. Food was okay---not bad but not fantastic. We did see a fair amount of characters--the most fun was Alice and the Mad Hatter. They both hung out for quite a long time in our area making mischief with all of the kids. Was probably our favorite character time! I would do it again.
