If you have stayed in room 5188 on the Dream, PLEASE tell me this is not really the balcony!!!

Saw this picture on another thread, and it was thought to be 5188, and the same for 5688.
I have this room booked for our cruise in Aug and paid the same amount as any other room in this category, and if THAT is our balcony, I will be very disappointed!!! :sad2: And, the ship is sold out, so no option of changing right now.

We are pretty confident that is the balcony for 5188. The reason is the dual railings which are only on decks 5 and 6 on the aft of the ship. In addition if you look at this picture you can see 5688 (the mirror of 5188), the last balcony on the bottom right side, and it has no depth on the right side of the photo.

Oh and I just noticed in the facebook comments that someone confirmed the photo is indeed 5188.

VERY luckily, my TA spoke at length with a DCL supervisor yesterday, and we got switched to a GTY in Cat 5A. She said to get the word out there for people not to choose this cabin, or 5688. If you do end up with it, and can't switch, complain. She said DCL won't re-cat these rooms unless enough people DO complain. Why pay for a full balcony and get this little slice of one? :confused3

Congrats that is good news!

I would be bummed if I was in that verandah. I have 8188 and I know it is big but I haven't seen pictures of that specific verandah.

Bump

...or 5688? Anyone yet?? Anxiously waiting to see if it is really as bad as it looks...

I know this is an old post but I just wanted to update for those who are thinking about this room. It has been recatagorized as a 7A so is considerably cheaper than the 6A... Thank you for everyone who complained.. I don't mind this as a 7A as it has an amazing view especially while in port, but as a 6A I would have been ticked!... We booked this room for next year as a 7A so we will see for sure then :)
