Has anyone ever had to be evacuated off a ride?

I've been evacuated off Test track, Rock 'n' Rollercoaster and Mission Space but in all instances they provided fast passes for our return. There have been other occasions where rides I've been on have broken down and I've been stuck waiting for a bit, but luckily they managed to get them going again. I remember on Buzz this worked out quite well as we were stuck in front of some targets and I got my highest score ever! :)

We got stuck in TT right before the heat and cold chambers. We were stuck for about 20-30 minutes before we were evacuated and got to walk through the ride. TT is one of the least exciting rides to be evacuated from because there's no hidden secrets or behind the scenes fun stuff to see. It was still pretty cool though :)

2 times in 2 days.. Magic Kingdom.
Big Thunder Mountain - got on ride started to go and kid was not strapped in. had to get everyone off the ride and climb down the tracks.

Space Mountain. started to go into the darkness and poof emergency buzzer went off. Ride Stopped. Had to come get us out. They told my husband not to step on the tracks because it was dangerous. He had no choice.. he is
6'5" 300 lbs... he couldnt be carried over the tracks.

We were given a FP both times

::yes:: Off Expedition Everest.
Stopped at the "broken track" for about 20 minutes and then they came and got us.
It was the highlight of DH's trip :rotfl: We walked down through the inside of the mountain. Very cool.

That is AWESOME! We've only been evacuated once, and it was considerably less exciting--on the Pooh ride. Still, it was kind of fun although a poor CM stumbled and fell during the evacuation process (she was ok though, the guests were very concerned and were starting toward her to help when she stood up).:earsboy:

I think I would have a heart attack if I got stuck on BTM or SM or EE or RR..I'm deathly afraid of heights and am ok if it's a quick up and down but to be stuck..oh my G-O-D!

Automatonophobia and Thalassophobia and these stories are making me even more terrified of riding any ride.

Last night I was at MNSSHP and at the end of the night decided to ride Pirates of the Caribean before I left. Right at the buy a bride scene the ride stopped for about 20-25 minutes. Casr Members had to then but on rubber boots and had to come get us out of the boat and walk us around the back to get back into the park. They were very adament about no photography. I was just wondering if anyone else had a similar expierence on any of the other attractions?

It happened to me last Friday on this exact same ride, but it was over an hour and EMS had to come get us out.

Haunted Mansion was due to a medical emergency. I heard lady on a lady had a heart attack on the ride, but don't know that is 100% sure. We were stuck on that for 45 minutes in one of the darkest spots of the ride.

Rockin Roller Coaster my niece and I were stuck before getting into the actual ride! It took it 4 attempts for the ride to go and sitting there with the music blasting in your ears didn't help with your nerves of the situation! -.- The cast members walked up each time it didn't take off and I asked what was going on and she said it was a computer glitch. The 4th time it just took off without warning and the music didn't start until after we hit the first upside part.

Also was on Tower of Terror when it broke down, the doors wouldn't open at the very end. Expedition Everest where the ride goes backwards and up in the mountain. Space Mountain stopped on the first hill the last time I was there. Back in March, each time we got on a ride, something happened almost everytime.

Got fast passes for Haunted Mansion, Pirates, Expedition, Tower of Terror and Rockin Roller Coaster situations...but seriously didn't help with my nerves and when I had my niece with me, she didn't want to get back on certain rides not knowing if it would break down.

Twice - both times on Big Thunder

We were also evacuated from POTC a few weeks ago during MNNSHP! It was our last ride of the night, and we probably got on around 11:45-ish. We were in the room where the village is burning, and our boat had stopped right next to the "band". We were there for about 45 minutes before we were finally rescued. We were okay with it, we know it sometimes happens, but a dad in the boat ahead of us was yelling at the CMs when they came over after about 30 minutes (it took another 15 to evacuate those behind us and move our boat backwards).

He was complaining about his tired children on the ride, and blaming the CMs for keeping them out late. Um, hello? :scratchin You chose to keep them out until midnight. I'm sure there would have been some store browsing on the way out, so they probably got back to their room about the same time. If you ask me, I think the dad was just cranky and needed someone to take it out on.

The CMs didn't have a problem with us taking pictures, we just couldn't take pictures of the CMs in the water or any of the backstage areas. DH got some great ride pictures when they raised the lights a bit, but not any of the more iconic scenes.

We heard the tale of "George" on our way out, and got our FPs. Since that was our last night, we gave them to another friendly couple behind us. They were so thankful! I love spreading a little magic of my own. pixiedust:

Not at WDW but we were evacutated from the Roger Rabbit ride at DLR.

The CM had to bring a small floor plate that she would but down for us to walk on whenever we had to cross one of the track gaps.

We were evacuated off Roger Rabbit last week. The ride had just started up after being shut down, so there was no one in front of us or behind us. It was just myself, DH and our 3 year old on the ride. And it was creepy!

We had two giant clowns looking down at us, and we kept hearing the fireworks factory "exploding" outside. If it had been myself and my DS in there, I would have been flipping out a bit.

During the mnsshp on 10/23 my boys were ev. off of splash mountain after being stuck . They laugh about it since they were given tons of candy by the cast members

We were escorted off Splash Mountain on Oct. 16. We had just come down the hill and went around the corner when our boat just stopped. After about 20 minutes, Cast Members came by to release us from the boats and escort us out. We walked along a small path next to the water, past the "Zip a Dee Doo Dah" paddleboat and out a door to outside. One young lady was trying to take pictures, but the cast members were firm about no picture taking. They gave everyone Fastpasses that were good for any ride at any time for the rest of October. My son thought is was very cool to see behind the scenes :-)

this happens to my kids every time they go on that ride, every single time :sad2:

I understand that things break down and that's just part of it all. What I don't understand is why does it take 45 minutes to get people off? That seems pretty ridiculous. After 5 minutes, it's time to start unloading. Worry about fixing the ride after everyone is off. I'd be pretty miffed!

Not evacuated, but I still think this is cool. We were on Test Track right where the semi truck almost hits you and the ride stopped. We didn't know what was going on and of course that's a dark scene. Finally a cast member shows up from behind the semi truck area and comes right to my car with a flashlight and opens the trunk of it, fiddles around with something, and it all starts back up again! My car had an issue and triggered the stop. That was kinda cool. At the exit they made us get off the car, but then had us go down and then up some stairs to take us back to the loading area so we could ride it again. However, it stopped and started several times that time. Still no evacuation, just a sloooow ride.

My family was evacuated off Toy Story Mania. After being stuck in the car for awhile and they weren't able to restart the ride, they had to come and open each car and escort people out through an entrance in the ride. The best part was that my car was the last car before I had to exit the ride anyway so I actually made it through the whole ride and was still issued a fast pass. What a great ride to get a fast pass for. :thumbsup2

We've been given the Pirates "push back" evacuation. Poor castmembers had a hard time pushing our full boat. I was just bummed because we didn't stop in a good spot.

we were evacuated off spaceship earth. We were only 4-5 scenes into it, so the walk down was not bad. The lights came on, they came and opened the cars, and we walked down the staris that go along the track. I did take pictures (nobody told me not to). It was actually pretty cool.

Now, I did have to stop to go to the bathroom prior to the ride. Had we not made that stop, we probably would have been at the TOP of the ball... that may have not been so cool.

On our last trip in August we were evacuated from the TTA twice. The first time was at night during Wishes. Unfortunately we broke down about 25 feet from a view of the castle and the fireworks.:sad1: We waited about 15 min. before a CM walked us off. He said they had been having a lot of problems with breakdowns.

The next day my DS13 wanted to ride again while waiting for our FP time for SM. I had a bad feeling about it, but agreed. Sure enough it broke down again. This time we waited about 40 minutes. Again we were walked off and they gave us each 2 FPs. :thumbsup2 So we rode SM with the FP we already had. Then went and rode Splash and BTMR. So it ended up being a good deal for us.:goodvibes

Oh my gosh yes! We were at the VERY end of the Winnie the pooh ride, just before the celebration scene. We weren't allowed to exit, so we sat there for a good 20 minutes, inching forward every few minutes. Finally, the people behind us got out, so we got out too. We got free fastpasses :)
