I'm looking for a 2016 Halloween on the high seas navigator, is there any other place I can look for one? There are none posted over on the DisneyCruiseLine blog and I am a member of many cruise groups and have yet to see one! LOL. We leave very soon for our cruise and I would just love to see a recent one after seeing countless ones from last year.

I have a couple from this past weekend on the Dream. Actually, I got one Navigator at check in and then just the schedule of events for the rest of the cruise. It was only a 3 night cruise though. It might be more rushed than a 4 night cruise schedule wise.

Awesome thanks! I heard that they have changed to the single sheets now on all the ships. I believe it happened on September 12th.

That is good. When we were on the Dream this past end of May to June they still had the full Navigator with schedule inserts. I like the streamlined sheets a lot more. :)

I'm sad that they've gone that route, though. I liked having the Navigator to read for more in depth info on things (when they had it).

I like the environmental aspect of going streamlined, but I agree that I will also miss the more in-depth navigator. I loved going through it with tea on the verandah before we began our day!

The very first one we got at check in was the full Navigator with all the usual information. Perhaps because the basic information is always the same they felt they could cut back on that part?
Maybe they are testing the waters (haha) to see if there is a need to bring back the classic style.

The friends that I have spoken to that just sailed were told by their room hosts to let them know whether you like it or not at guest services, they are listening :)

Well, I'm not onboard a ship soon. Maybe I could just contact DCL directly and let them know. Although, I've not seen the single sheet thing. Is it basically just the hourly grid schedule sheet that was the insert in the Navigator?

Yes. The schedule grid inserts only.

Good idea on calling them! It is the insert sans the nice cover. It is one page front and back :(

Wow, if they truly eliminate the big navigators I will be very upset!! A lot of information is not really visible very well in the single sheet and I like the description of the shows and such. And the navigators make wonderful souvenirs after the cruise. I will certainly let them know how much I am displeased with this on my next cruise.

From what they have said it is a move they plan to keep, I am hoping that they will get a lot of complaints and hear us out?! I know the room hosts are saying that many are complaining to them, but they keep saying go to guest services!

I know the room hosts are not the right person to address. I feel sorry for them that they are getting the upset people - who might even think their host is doing a bad job because they do not get the full navigators.

Yes, I can see how they think the app will replace the outside sheet. But after two cruises using the app, I found it cumbersome to find things there that I did not know that existed. And they like to think of themselves as a "premium cruise line" - those nicely designed sheets of paper certainly added to that premium feel in my opinion (and they really are not a premium line anyway, they just have allusions to be one...).

Sorry for ranting so much in your thread - I guess this ought to be its own thread anyway. People would not see it here. I saw that Scott announced on Twitter that he will post the first set of short Navigators today on disneycruiselineblog.com... Which for you might be something you are actually looking for as it will most likely be a Halloween Navigator!

Oh YUCK! I really dislike the idea of going to a one-page grid style Navigator. We all enjoyed looking through it the night before and planning our day. This is a big disappointment. Happening its not yet on the Magic when we sail in a month. I find it so much easier to zone in on a specific section (spa, drink tastings etc then looking at the grid) and like that the quick info you need is right on t he cover.

Edited to add... believe it or not everyone has a phone making the app a poor alternative

Environmentally, I would rather they cut back on the printed ad materials they leave in the stateroom each night rather than the Navigator. I don't need 4 ads in 7 nights to remind me they are available to sell me Disney Vacation Club. I'd rather have a Navigator that provided good descriptions of the activities available -- sometimes the name of the activity doesn't really help you decide if it is something you want to participate in. In fact, I thought with the full Navigators they were getting skimpy in the activity descriptions

I'm hoping the DCLblog does post the navigators from Halloween soon, I have been waiting not-so-patiently! LOL
