We will be staying in a Villa at the WL and want to pick up some essentials, diapers, pb&j, etc....anyone know of a store nearby that we can go to that's easy to find!?!?!?!?

TIA,

And please let me know how far away it is if you do know of one! Thanks!

There is goodings right across the street from the DTD entrance to DisneyWorld. By all accounts it is very expensive, but compared to UK prices it seemed ok to me. (it doesn't have carpet, so that strikes me as fairly pricey!)

If you turn right at that same exit, and cross the I4 the Premium Outlet Mall is pretty much right in front of you and there is a grocery store there (I think it's a Publix)

If you want to make a grocery stop on the way to your hotel from the airport, a good thing to know is that the Albertson's supermarket at 12981 S. Orange Blossom Trail (Orange Blossom Trail exit from SR 417) will allow you to fax a list to them at (407) 857-0132. They will have your order packed and ready to pick up! You can call them at (407) 857-5666. Give name, phone, arrival time 24-48 hours in advance.

The store is right off the highway. We were in and out within 5 minutes! I've done this twice so far and we'll do it everytime from now on.

I'd do the fax ahead thing if it weren't for the fact that we'll be arriving in Orlando at approx 9:15am. If I knew our villa would be ready I'd do that!

Publix at Little Lake Bryan (behind the Premium Outlets) is new and great, better than the one down 535 towards Kissimmee. There is also a new grocery store when you exit Hotel Plaza Blvd and turn left, past the Sheraton Safari, on your right. Can't remember which chain, but not as exciting as Publix (ok, I will admit that their great tv commercials have brainwashed me, but I looooove Publix at LLB)

The Goodings outside Downtown Disney on 535 is horrendously overpriced and lives off tourists who walk or don't want to go further.

If all else fails, Walgreens has lots of groceries, albeit mainly junk food. Two locations - 535 left from Hotel Plaza Blvd or 535 right from Hotel Plaza Blvd - each about 3 minutes drive.

Closest to WL is the Albertons (maybe?) noted above - exit WL and turn left, then left past Fort Wilderness. Either right at POR towards DTD and then take Hotel Plaza Blvd, turn left onto 535. OR if you are really adventurous, don't turn right at POR but keep going straight. Left at the stop sign, then onto the road behind WDW (I believe it's 435 or a contiuation of 535?) past the Grand Cypress, then left at the light onto 535. Have I completely confused you? use mapquest instead........ or have fun getting a little lost - the signage on the roads is so good that you will definitely find your way back home to WL.

THANK YOU! It's a Winn Dixie on 535, not an Albertsons (I knew that wasn't correct)

super walmart not too far away. other stores in main part of orlando are expensive. Go to walmart website and click on store locator at bottom and enter Lake Buena Vista and then get map directions. not too hard to find but get directions printed before you leave. You can get exact mapquest directions if you have your resort address.

I would recommend the Winn-Dixie instead of the Goodings. It's much less expensive and not too far from Downtown Disney.pirate:
