We wanted to take DD and DS to a waterpark for a night on Feb break. I called Grey Wolf and they quoted 299.99. I called Skyline Hotle and it is $159.00. I know that Grey Wolf is "Kid-Themed" but Skyline has movies in the lobby and I figured we would be spending time at the parks and not in the room. DD is 7, DS is a special needs child so he would not be involved in any activities anyway....any good things about them? Bad things????

Great wolf actually has the waterpark in it's hotel and is only for guests of the hotel. Fallsview is connected to several hotels, so you have to walk farther. My GF made me laugh when she stayed there as she had to walk past a major restaurant in her bathing suit and she was very embarrassed about it. She said it was a long walk.

So if you chooses Fallsview make sure to bring a coverup.

She has now said the Great Wolf is worth the price (and they are very cheap).

My kids had a blast at both parks, both are well run. I did enjoy the fact that skyline was cheaper. They have a movies at night which is nice. Bring your skates if you want a break from the park, there is a free skating rink near across from the falls.

We've been to both and I wouldn't pay an extra $150 to go to Great Wolf. I do think it is the better of the water parks though.
They do periodically have 24 hour sales at GWL, you just missed one last week. The one before that was in September.

Was the sale that you mentioned sent to people on the mailing list? I think we are going to go with the Skyline this trip. With the money we save we can go somewhere nice for dinner with the kids. Thanks for the suggestions. I dont want to frighten anyone walking around in my bathing suit!!:scared1:
We are leaving here at 9am and arriving at 10:30 (depending on traffic crossing the border). We will be able to use the water park right away. I was told that there is a locker room. We can check in around 3 take a shower and go to dinner and then explore the shops until we go to the movie. The next day get up and eat breakfast. Im bringing food and juice boxes because there is a fridge in the room. Use the park again until 3 for a few hours and drive home. We are planning on stopping on the way back to grab a quick bite. I am hoping DS's health is ok to travel and the weather cooperates with us!! Im not telling DD until we are on our way so in case there is a change of plans she will not be disappointed. Thanks again for all your help!!!!! We have up until 48 hours to cancel so I will keep watching Grey Wolf in case there is a good sale.

I am on the mailing list so it was sent to me by email BUT they do post it on their website. GWL is great about emails, I've only gotten 2 since July and they were both about the 24 hour sales. Join their email list, you'll get first dibs on the sale next time.

Check out the Americana on Lundy's Lane, they also have a waterpark inside similar to Great Wolf & during the week we were quoted $119/night.

I personally would never pay $300 for a hotel room anywhere, especially Great Wolf.

Just to warn anyone the americana has a much smaller waterpark than fallsview or GWL. Which my family would have appreciated when they were younger but now that they are older they find the smaller venue disapointing.

We have done all 3 in Niagara, GWL, Americana and Fallsview and I will only now do GWL, its just so much nicer and cleaner and DD loves it ;)

we hgave also done all 3 many times. Unless you have real little ones americana would be disapointing. GWL is great but so is the indoor at fallsview. It is a walk down to the waterpark at fallsview but a great waterpark. I did not find it any busier (at same time of year) than GWL. The kids like GWL because they like the kids activities but the waterparks are comparible. Any questions just ask as we have been to both many times....have fun

I haven't been to Fallsview but we did GWL last Canada Day weekend. It was so much fun and we got the room for $200 CND each night (we stayed for 2 nights), which I thought was great for a long weekend. We booked through hotelclub.net. I'm not a water person but I enjoyed the slides and pools there. Plus with Canada Day they had a lot of activities which my family enjoyed.

I also noticed that the staff at GWL were super friendly, from the front desk to the slide monitors. Very Disney-like! I would definitely stay there again.

Here is some info from a local Niagara Falls resident, who has been to both numerous times......

Great Wolf is great but it is big. With young kids it is hard to keep an eye on them. The Fallsview is much smaller which can be good with small kids. They have more freedom at Fallsview.

Fallsview's wave pool sucks! If you can even call it a wave pool more like a slow moving breeze. Great Wolf's is much better. I guess they had some structure problems when they built it and had to keep the waves turned down now. So if that is your thing Great Wolf is a better bet.

Yes, Fallsview is shared between 3 hotels. The Skyline has a direct pathway that is a kind of skywalk kind of thing over the casino driveway, that goes straight into the back of the waterpark, Crowne Plaza is directly linked too. And yes you have to go through the Hard Rock Cafe Restaurant to get to the waterpark from the Sheraton.

FYI the skating is NOT free....even for locals, there is only Free Times during the week so check the Winter Festival of Lights or TD Rink on the Brinks website for details.

Skyline Hotel use to be an outdoor motel and now it is closed in so it has these courtyards in the middle and yes they do play movies at night. Great Wolf has a dance PJ party which is awefully Loud so if you have a sensitive child beware. It does though have automatronic animals in the lobby which is fun. At Great Wolf the decor is top notch also, it is fairly new. Keep in mind it is also not in walking distance to anything so you will have to drive and pay for parking, where the other 3 are right down at the falls and in the heart of the tourism thing.

Hope that helps, we love both and have been numerous times. We like them both for different reasons, so either one is great! If you have any other questions about Niagara or the hotels just ask.

Hello, regarding visiting these waterparks and visiting Americana indoor water park verses Greatwolf lodge and Niagara Fallsview indoor waterpark. For the money, which would be preferable for a 1 year old and a 3 year old, both girls and not very brave. Of course i would accompany the 3 year old on any daring (in her eyes) slides if I need to. She is 36 inches high. Thank you in advance

Great Wolf is nice for one night, but too over priced if you are to stay more than a night. I would movie to Skyline one the next day if were you.

There would be more for your children at that age and height to do at the GWL waterpark than at the Fallsview indoor waterpark in terms of water features. I do not have any experience with Americana

They have height requirement for some rides. 48" for the water coaster slide. I can't remember the rest tho.

We just came back from Fallsview and loved it. If they were the same price, I'd definitely pick Great Wolf. I would even pay a little more for Great Wolf, up to $225/ night. It would be like comparing Disney to Wonderland. Wonderland is great, but its not Disney.

With our special needs daughter, we find that Great Wolf works well for her since one of us can take her to the water park for a little while and then back to the room to veg/recuperate for a bit. If she wants to go back to the water park later, she can. We've never tried the Skyline and the shared waterpark, but I would think leaving the water park to go back to a different hotel would take a lot more time and effort.

Well, Great Wolf Lodge is no Disney neither, I miss Wilderness Lodge when ever I go to GWL.
