Great parenting!

This is what I was thinking! Are you as a CM allowed to report something like this, because that IS TOTALLY abuse!!!! That poor dear! I'm sure she was upset enough WITHOUT having to be pushed down! You were a good deal more level headed about it than I probably would have been.

:rotfl: I've said something similar before.

I can report it to management and security and then from there its really up to them to handle it.

I am sure the official public policy is different than actual policy. You actually bring up a good point about being allowed to report that.

Disney have two very different faces, there is the face that projects a positive image and would probably go along the lines of if the CM wanted to report the issue they are free too, however, in reality Disney does not want to get involved because of the legal issues it could possibly cause.

That is just my opinion and not known fact, its just based on observations and comments.

Un-buh-leeevable. Bullies come in all shapes and sizes, and even take their show on the road to Disney only to give their abused children a miserable time. Go figure. I have a hard time getting my head around some people.

While I could not walk them to First Aid, I did mention that they can go there and get some treatment for free.

The mom just stood their with the other child and did not say a word, she didn't even go and check on the child that was pushed down.

Thanks for the nice comments and support and hopefully he will get what is coming to him, that kind of behavior is bound to catch up with you sooner or later, lets just hope its sooner in this case.
I do believe in Karma.. and it usually does come back to bite one in the butt... too bad you could not be there to see that happen :lmao:

If the mom stood there and didn't say a word, either she was in shock and didn't know what to say, or she is in fear since dad does things like this often.. :sad2: It is something observers will never know... only that family will know... and hopefully it was just shock :sad2:

In my line of work, if I even suspect abuse, I must report it. If I don't and there is, and it comes back that I was aware of it, I can be fired.. I work in a classroom.. I have to document, document document.. then report! :thumbsup2 Reasons for all the documentation is to have a good case to present to DCF so they don't just dismiss it as an isolated incident. I once had a child in the class who eventually was killed by his step father...:sad1: His step father is know serving 30 years :goodvibes but this all would have been prevented if DCF would have listened to us and the school before us...:sad1::sad1::sad1::sad1:

If the father does that to a poor child in public, what's he doing at home. This needs to be reported, for the safety and well being of the children involved. OP, kudos to you for keeping your cool, I certainly would not have.

Good thing I'm not a CM. I would've lost my job shoving the father onto the ground in return. Good for you for keeping a cool head.

:thumbsup2 Yep, me too. And I'm quite vocal in situations like that. I would've been fired as well!

Just goes to show, that there are people who need to have the stupid smacked out of them.......

I feel bad for the rest of the family, bullying like that is so uncalled for. What kind of message is that sending to the kids, and that the mother did nothing just shocks me further. Hope the kid is ok.

:sad1: This breaks my heart to the point that I just can't stand it. As parents we are to protect and advocate for our children. The one person responsible for protecting that baby was harming her. I can't imagine what goes on in that home if missing a character meeting caused that type of reaction. That is horrifying. :sad1:

Regrettably, the CM's picking up and hugging the child is also assault.

Then there is a recent story about a drug store employee who shot at a robber (not sure whether he hit) and was promptly fired for having the gun while at work.

For certain, this incident must have been caught on security cameras.
What WDW management did in response, I guess we will never know. :sad2:

There is a huge WDW Security thread that tells many stories about guests witnessing an incident, when suddenly, security appears out of nowhere and the offender is whisked backstage in a matter of seconds. Some of these stories involve domestic abuse and child abuse. I can only hope that this SOB dad was caught and charged with a crime.

I hope you reported this to someone. If it's this bad in public, I can only imagine what goes on at home. If everyone sits by and watches it happen, it will continue to happen. Sorry you had to witness it and sorry for that little girl. People like that don't deserve to be parents.

What a git! He doesn't deserve to have children if he's going to treat them like that, closed doors or not. I understand slip ups in parenting but this was deliberate meaning it was most likely done before. The man had time to debate it. :headache:

I applaud you OP, I probably would have done something to loose my job, if I ever got over the shock first.

I don't know what Disney's policy is when it comes to these kinds of things, but this was criminal child abuse. Period.

He should have been escorted backstage by security and detained until the police could arrive. They should have take a report and forwarded it to the County Prosecutor who should have charged him with Child Abuse.

People like this don't stop without intervention. My guess is that Mom was so "used to" / desensitized by his actions, she didn't react appropriately as a mother should.

What a sad excuse for a parent.
