Great News "Viva Las Vegas"

Cool! When will it be done? We have like 100K MarriottRewards points that we may give to a friend for an engagement/wedding present. Vegas would be an interesting place to honeymoon, LOL!

Just read that the Marriott Vacation Club is building a resort on the Las Vegas strip!! I could only hope this gets added to our portfolio for future trades.

The Polo Towers(across from Monte Carlo) in Vegas is already a part of trades. You would have to stay for 7 days though through DVC.

We are going to Vegas in 2 weeks and staying at the Flamingo(mid strip) for 5 nights for only $320, and using FF miles for the airfare(1st class)......so you can see this is a rather in-expensive trip for us.:D

Also, the Venetian (super nice hotel!) comes up for $79/night plus tax on Priceline pretty regularly. It only comes up within 15 days or so of departure, so you have to make a cancellable "backup" reservation to try this strategy. DH and I want to do this if we ever go back to Vegas again. We probably won't though...once in a lifetime was enough for us, LOL!

I don't think I would ever trade to Vegas. You can easily get nice hotels at $50-100 a night if you do your homework. Were leaving for The Aladdin tomorrow:teeth: for $79 a night. Sure you don't have a 2BR unit, but you are on the strip with a casino in the lobby. In Las Vegas, timeshares are only allowed a few(15 or less I think) slot machines.

OUCH! We take the kids to WDW once a year. Mom and Dad try to hit Vegas twice each year.

lovetotravel, make sure you get a high floor with a view of the fountains, and check-in at the airport- it's so much faster.

There are so many reasonably priced hotels in Las Vegas, I see no advantage in using my points to stay there.

Don't get me wrong...Vegas was a nice trip, and I'm glad that we went and saw it. We loved the restaurants! We were pretty bored between meals though. Gambling was fun for like 15 minutes, but then it got old fast for us. I have to say, I enjoyed doing the tour at Hoover Dam, though. Also, we were very unlucky with the weather when we went...it was April, but it was FREEZING. The day after we came home, it was 80 in Vegas. Figures!!

Have already planned on checking in at the airport and requested high floor with the view of the strip.;) We hardly even gamble when we are their......to much to see and do.

I consider Vegas the WDW for adults.;)

P.S.I would also NEVER use pts in Vegas.

Las Vegas has always been a long weekend destination for us, but only because the airfares are reasonable and LV is a great place to travel from. This Memorial Day weekend, we did 2 nghts at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, an easy drive from LV, and definitely "the quiet side" of the Grand Canyon.

So, we wouldn't use points there. Hilton Grand Vacation Club always sends us stuff to take advantage of special weekends for viewing their timeshare there, but their cost of the package is more than we pay for a room in LV and it's not our pleasure to stay in LV more than 1-2(max) night at a time.
