On Youtube I found several great videos of the two ships when they were both departing Port Canveral last month due to the Magic's delay.
It must have been great fun to be on deck and waving and yelling to the other ship. It was so loud you can hear it in a vidoe taken by someone taping from the end of the channel at the state park area. These make me smile just listening to them :)

We live about 5 minutes from the port and we were there to see the two ships take off and the whistle blowing. It was a sight to see. You could hear the people from both ships yelling and singing. We will be taking the Magic in April to Barcelona and then doing the Med. cruise. Just hope the weather warms up.

More Disney magic! Don't you just love sharing life in Florida with "The Mouse"!

I love watching videos of the horn battles! Makes me miss DCL so much. My plan is to either attend graduate school or move to Florida. If I move there I want to live in either Celebration or Titusville (do I want to be close to the port or close to WDW, decisions decisions!) :thumbsup2

The second link is my video. It was an AWESOME sight to see! I can't wait to set sail on the Wonder next month for our fourth Disney cruise! :cool1:

Thanks so much for posting these videos!! Being the type that gets all weepy while watching this stuff, I now look like a raccoon thanks to my mascara running :lmao:

Less than 90 days 'til my next voyage on the Wonder!!!!!!!!!!!

We are leaving on the Magic in a week and I admit I teared up when I saw these videos. Thanks so much for posting them!!

It WAS great fun to be on the ship - especially to be on the Magic since we were leaving a day later than we should have been. It was exciting to see the Wonder and know that we were finally on our way! :banana:What was really interesting was to see how the crews of both ships were so excited about it. Everything sort of stopped for a few moments and everyone who could watch, did. A great start to a great week!

I did notice watching one of the videos that the crew of the Wonder was waving at the Magic from the flying bridge - and lots of cast members on their pool deck than I usually see when the ship is departing. We like to stand at the very bow of the ship during departure and in the past we've only seen 2 or 3 cast members out there.

Watching those videos makes me wish I was cruising again soon. :cloud9:

Can't get enough of those horns!!!! It took my son half a day to download the DCL horn for my Cell phone. It wouldn't go directly to my phone so he finally had to download it to his and send it to mine. Now every text message I get, and that is the way we communicate most of the time, I get to hear the Horn. Just wish I didn't have to turn the phone to vibrate while I'm at work. The sound of the Horn takes me to one of my Happy Places. Some of my other ringtones are Disney, too, so they take me to my other Happy Place, WDW.

We were on the Magic in November 2007 when Hurricane Noel messed with our plans to go to Castaway Cay so we wen to Nassau instead. We were in port early with a Carnival and a Princess ship already there. Of course we were welcomed by them and we returned the welcome with that wonderful horn. Then the Wonder came in, by that time everyone was up and moving around the 3 ships so there were a lot of people on deck on all four of the ships. We welcomed the Wonder, then the other two ships sounded off. We had about a 15 minute serenade with the Magic and Wonder. It was even better when we left port - the passengers on the other ships even cheered with all the noise the 2 disney ships were making. The crew on the Magic was in a great mood that night. They got a little more free time (instead of their duties that would have been on Castaway Cay) and were able to have a soccer match against the Wonder team. A lot of crew talked about meeting up with their old friends on the other ship.

The third one down is mine!! I have to admit that I got goosebumps as the two ships were passing and saluting each other with their horns. It was one of the highlights of my cruise!
