Gone Mad Party at Grand Floridian

Hi there. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the Gone Mad Party on Wednesday nights at the Grand Floridian has been like lately (like in the past two weeks). I remember reading a while ago that it was insanely overcrowded and that the desserts were way overpriced. It sounded like a fun event, so I was wondering if the hype died down and what the crowds are like. I am debating watching the fireworks from there or at the dock at the Ticket and Transportation Center. The TTC dock was my original plan.

Of the two, TTC is the better view.

I can't find what I'm looking for in my history, but I read reports of extremely long lines to get anything (drinks and desserts) and that it was really overcrowded. So unless someone here on the Dis reports otherwise, I wouldn't get too excited. Since no one is coming to report, I'm going to plan on watching the fireworks at the TTC instead for a better view.

I did not go but saw the set up from my room. It looked really cute. If I were hanging around the resort that night, I would have gone.

I went last Wed (8/17) and we really liked it! You have to get there early to get a chair or ottoman--they only had about a dozen chairs. We were 45 minutes early and had one chair and three ottomans for the five of us. About 5 minutes before 8:30, people started lining up, so I got in line and was about #5 to be served. In minutes, the line was huge, but there was a cash register issue so maybe that's why? We got 2 of the tiramisus in the chocolate cups and 2 of the green potions (for adults) with the glow ice cubes that my kids really wanted. We stayed for maybe 45 minutes? Not until fireworks because my kids and I were headed to MK until 2am. Really, though, it was a highlight of my trip and I would recommend it. As for fireworks, I watched them from the Poly twice this past week and it was a great spot--once from the little hill by the bungalows and once on the beach. Really special!
