Day 4 cont.
After leaving Nemo's ride in EPCOT, we took a stroll to see what we would do next . . .
We decided to be Crash-Test Dummies for GM! TEST TRACK!!!
After BARELY meeting the height requirement, we stood in line . . . and stood in line . . . an- oooh we moved a WHOLE foot! Then stood in line . . .
Finally I told them that I couldnt do it. That I would go over to Mexico while they waited and rode, then meet them at Sunshine Seasons for lunch. Well, they all looked at each other and decided to go with me. So we headed off to Mexico!
Hmmm . . . can't find the pics! Whoops! So I'll be brief(ish) . . . I LOVE Mexico, becasue of the jewelry. Unfortunantly, the jewelry shop that's usually on the right, is being refurbished. So they've put some of the stuff in the shop on the left. The selection is soooo SMALL! But I did manage to buy a bracelet
OH! And while Kim was shopping a couple of days before, since she spent whatever was the required amount, I got the $15 watch . . .
So this time, I only came away with ONE good piece of jewelry from Mexico. Hopefully when I go back later this year, they would've expanded BACK to what they used to have!
Since Norway is right next door, we did Malestrom. Of course we by-passed the movie, and on the way out, I lamented once again over how expensive the Layla perfume is. Will I ever dole out the bucks for that? Hmmm . . .
By then we were humgry, and headed over to Sunshine Seasons. It was PACKED! I had the same Turkey with Munster sandwhich, and Butterfinger cheesecake.
After we were fully fully stuffed, we used our Fast Passes for Soarin. The Fast Pass line was a bit long, but it moved.
After Soarin, we headed back to Test Track to see if the line was any better. Once again the line didnt move. So I told them that I would just go back to the room, and meet then tonight for dinner. I was hot, and my feet and legs were threatening to go on strike. With that, I bid my fellow DISers Adieu, and headed for the exit.
Well folks, since I didnt drive, I had to catch the bus back. Can you believe that in all that HEAT, I walked further than I had to, to the wrong stop!! UGHHH! I then spotted the correct stop when I saw the bus comming.
Soon I was on my way back to the resort . . .
Candice really wanted to eat at Boma that night insted of Sanaa, since she was going home the next day. So I called to see if I could switch it - NO LUCK. Ughhh! I got out of my hot clothes, and called then to deliver the news. I ended up talking to klofan. When I asked what they were doing, he said, "In lne for Test Track". I cracked up - he tells jokes all the time, and is really funny! So I asked what they were REALLY doing, and he repeated himself....Huh? He said that they WERE REALLY still in line for it!!! I couldnt believe it!!! It took them over an hour to get on it! I was soooo glad I listened to my body and left!
After a too brief nap inthe room, klofan was calling to let me know that they were downstairs for out Sanaa reservation. Well that night I chose to wear my "Obama" shirt. After all, I can't wear it at work. And even if I could, I think my co-workers would kill me since they are REALLY disappointed that he won. The mood at work after the election was horrible! But I digress . . .
So tonight would finally be my chance to wear my shirt! Before I even got to the lobby, I'd gotten a thumbs-up! But when I spotted the gang, klofan said that he wished he's bought his McCain shirt! HA!
On my way down, I stopped to harrass one of the CMs who told me to NOT worry about the toll I missed - that I wouldn't be charged since it was just one time. I told him that I was taking his pic, so when I got a ticket, I could tell them to send it to him!
Eventually, we headed down to Sanaa. The decor is beautiful and they play music at the start of the dinner service. . .
And wouldn't know it . . . my batteries died, and my back-up batteries had NO JUICE! So have NO pics of the inside of Sanaa, nor of the food.
So Candice, PLEASE post your pics and some narrative when you read this!
Here's my take on Sanaa - Good, lots of flavor, SMALL portions, HIGH prices. I would only go back for lunch - especially if I could get a seat by the window to see the Savanna. It was really cool looking at Giraffes, Zebras, etc. while we ate. But it was a bit too expensive for me, for the amount of food I got. There. I said it. The end.
Now it was time to do yet another thing I was REALLY excited about on this trip. . . .
