Glass Bottom Boats ?

WE are thinking of going on one of those glass bottom boat trips. My question is are they worth it, and is there one better than the other? We are going on the 7 day Western Cruise. Also will this cause any motion sickness? We have a boat, so we are use to small water movements on a large lake.

Based on our experience in Nassau, I'd say that the glass bottom boats are NOT worth it. In our case, the glass bottom is actually just a window that is only about 3 feet tall at the bottom of a well with a gaurd rail around it. It winds up placing your eyes about 6 - 8 feet from the "window".

I was unable to convince my wife to go snorkelling for our 1st cruise and that's how we wound up on the glass bottom boat. Basically we were so disappointed in the glass boat that the experience shamed my wife into snorkelling on our 2nd cruise.

So my advice is skip the narrow view on the under water world and jump right in with the snorkel excursion instead.

The other problem with the GBB's is that you have no control over what you get to see. One day there may be a good variety of fish to see and the next Zippo. We had that experience on th Atlantis Sub in Aruba. Fish are fish and thus don't care to grace the tourists with their prescence. They are just going about their little fishy business.
I agree... Pass on the GBB.
