Freebies at WDW

Does anyone have any good ideas for free stuff at WDW or DTD that has some actual value (not just a piece of chocolate at Ghiradelli or the celebration pin for example)?

I know that you can get a sandwich at Earl of Sandwich for your birthday for signing up for their website. Is there anything else like this?

In a word, NO. Disney does not give things away free. You may receive a dessert at a meal if it's your birthday or anniversary but not always. They are not required to give you an extra treat although many do.

It is always best to go with an expectation of not getting things for free as they only happen on rare, special occasions.
A cupcake may appear at the end of a meal if you happen to have a birthday button.

This is one of the disadvantages of the internet. Once one person posts up a special experience everyone else expects it. Too many trip reports will say how they had a poor trip because they or their child did not get a special treat.

With regards to signing up to Earl of Sandwich have a look at the Budget board as they may have details of other schemes you may be able to enrol.

we got a free pin and some plastic rings from a cast member once because the ride broke down it just depends on their moods i guess...

- Ghiradelli at DTD - free piece of chocolate
- Stickers
- Swizzle sticks from drinks and other drink decorations, sometimes a mickey straw
- Park maps
- Birthday buttons
- Character autographs
- Birthday cupcake at most restaurants. If they don't bring one, you can ask for one!
