I know people are always looking to find places to charge their phones in MK so I thought I'd share my latest find. I was alone in MK and my phone was low - I had a feeling I might find a spot upstairs at CHH and I was right! It took a bit of looking, but right at the top of one of the sets of stairs (the one closest to where you order I think) there is an open outlet. It is not right next to a table but there are some close by - close enough to watch your phone.

I was lucky to get the table closest to the outlet, plugged my phone in and ate lunch. It took longer than I expected and once I was done eating I did offer the table to people who looked like they were trying to find a table but they all said no.

So, if you need a charge grab some food and head upstairs at CHH!

Doh! You found my secret spot! :thumbsup2

I escort group travel, including lots of bands and choirs to WDW. Our usual mode of transport is an overnight bus trip, heading right to a park in the morning, so I often have to charge my phone after using it all night on the bus.

My favorite CS in the MK is CHH, so I often find a quiet table upstairs and use that plug to charge while I enjoy a tuna sandwich. MMM...I'll be there next week, so I'm sure I will be there sometime on our MK day!

Just curious - and by no means is this a snarky comment about people and their phones - but how is it that people on vacation in WDW need their phones that badly that seeking a spot to charge is imperative for their trip?

Is it that your battery wears down real fast or do you take work with you on vacation?

As I mentioned in my post above, WDW is "work" for me. I must have a charged phone so that anyone in the group I am escorting can contact me if necessary.

As for vacationers, many families use their phones to communicate with each other when they split up for whatever reason. Also, there are apps for line waits, park guides, etc., that many use to enhance their park experience.

And of course it is up to the individual how they wish to use their time (and their phone!).

In my opinion, there should be more mobile charging stations throughout the 4 parks, like at a guest relations area or somewhere. I was out in the West Coast and they were built into public chairs, public areas, anywhere, anyone could recharge.

We use our phones for line aps and my husband has to have his phone on him for work. We always like to have a good charge on our phones because we do split up and that is our way of communication to meet back up again.

Phones have multiple uses is mostly it.

Stuck in line? Time to play some Angry Birds Star Wars.
Taking a quick picture, CellPhone Camera to the rescue.
General Park Info [Characters that are out, where the nearest bathroom is], there are apps for that.

Not sure how well known it is, but there are 1 or 2 outlets in the seating area of Casey's. I used one next to the old Pinball/baseball machine that's behind the screen/TV. Even if you're not eating, you can watch the cartoons while you wait for it to charge. We used it one day before Casey's opened to charge my camera's battery, so it was nice and quiet.

But that's just perpetuating the vicious circle. Using the phone as a phone, and closing applications not being used (park maps show restroom locations and can be entertaining; probably the Imagineers hoped guests would find the queues entertaining...) would reduce or eliminate the need to charge midday or multiple times during the day.

I agree. I can see the occasional need for entertainment but I think doing something else that doesn't require your nose stuck in your phone screen is better. That being said I do plan on taking my phone with me the parks on my next trip as I'll be solo and will want to let my husband in on the fun I'll be having :)

I know what you mean about needing to charge your phone. I use only my iPhone for pics and it really drains the battery. Now I carry two battery pack cases so I never have to worry about finding a charging station or an outlet. The case like best is the Mophie (around $70 at Target).:thumbsup2

I use mine to keep in touch with the kids who leave us for other rides. I also use the wait time apps and games to entertain DD9.
I just bought a Mophie charger and will bring it along for vacation tomorrow.

Just FYI you can find mophie cases for $30-$40 on amazon and even cheaper on eBay. I saw one for $15!

I bought a Mophie off of both sites. Both were fakes and did not work. After my money was recovered I went straight to Mophie and purchased directly for $59.
Just beware. Sometimes cheap isn't best.

The nice thing about both sites though is you're covered under their buyer protection so other than being frustrated about getting a bad product, you'll be fine. That's the chance you take when buying stuff online though. I will say that I've had REALLY bad luck buying things Amazon.com that were not from Amazon or fulfilled by Amazon.

I have a nice mophie dual charger that was about 70$ for my droid phone and tablet. Works nicely [and I guess, it would technically also charge my Vita should I be so inclined]. But it's not a case one, and it has a nice thick battery to it.

That's a want, not a need. Waiting to post to any online forum until the phone owner is in a non-public location (home, hotel room, work if employer-permitted) and instead using the phone as simply a phone, eliminates or severely reduces the need to find a public outlet to recharge.
