Former Lasagne Lovers Meet Here!!!

Ok, I saw Davy Jones mentioned....LOVE the Monkees! :lovestruc

(Hang on, I'm about to win the biggest geek award-you guys will love this...)

My aunt gave me all her Monkees and Partridge Family records. I'd watch the shows, read the credits at the end and find the song titles. Then, I'd run in my room to see if the song was on one of the records. Then, if it was, I'd play it 50,000 times until I learned it.

(But wait, there's more!)

I loved Donny and Marie! I had the dolls, a couple records. There might have been a lunchbox involved. :rolleyes1 Thought the little brother Jimmy was really cute!

(That's all I'm admitting to for now!)

I had a Partridge Family lunchbox!

:sad1::sad1::sad1: a little sad here in my neck of the woods....Memphis just got booted out of the NCAA....

I had a bad feeling after the first round. That game shouldn't have been that close.

I feel bad for the kids....you too.

Mr. Man - you will be greatly missed. I completely understand, however. Please stop by once in a while for the fluff in stuff questions --see below

Inspired by NC State: if you had to pick a decade to live in for eternity which would it be: 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, or 90s???

The 50s! I love everything about the 50s. The music, the fashion, the cars, the innocence. I was definitely born in the wrong decade.

I just want to say thanks a lot you guys. Now I have the Monkey's song in my head.

:rolleyes1hey hey we're the Monkey's and people say we monkey around:rolleyes1

You are not alone. I feel the same way. And, I'm going to add - you all can keep Elvis -- I WANT BOBBY DARIN!!!:love::love:

:rotfl: Breezy got me the other day with the Sons of Liberty tune from Johnny Tremain. I am still whistling that song (3 days later).

Oh the shark, babe
Has such teeth, dear
And it shows them, pearly white

What was that movie about Bobby Darin that Kevin Spacey starred in? Wasn't it called "Beyond the Sea?" That was a good movie.

Yep - it was a good movie - but nothin's as good as the real thing.

My little one loves Mack the Knife -- but I'm partial to this one

That was sweet, thanks for sharing. I'd never seen any of that before. I've borrowed my mom's Bobby Darin CD a few times, but never seen many pictures of him.

Sandra never remarried after they divorced, did she? I could've sworn I remember her/their child(ren ?) on Larry King when the movie came out saying she never fell out of love with him to her dying day. Shame people can't work things out when they love each other that much, but that's life I guess.

I never knew that. Why did they break up?

I never knew that. Why did they break up?

I honestly couldn't remember, so I googled it. Only article I could find quickly said he was myopically focused on his career, and it led to their breakup. Also said he got married a second time in the 70s, but it only lasted a few months before he divorced that wife.

Remember too he was the unfortunate soul who grew up thinking his mother was really his sister. :sad2: I believe that happened to Jack Nicholson as well. I know babies born out of wedlock were looked down upon even more then than they are now, but wow... I can't imagine what that must've been like, to find that information out later in life. How awful.

I had a Partridge Family lunchbox!

I always think of my youngest son when I hear the Partridge Family. We had gotten an old VHS of the show, and we were showing the older four kids (2,4, 7 and 9 at the time) when I started labor with #5. DH wanted to keep me home as long as possible, so they played that VHS over and over and over...until I told DH it was really time to go.

Hm...I think I'll go between two decades...from 1945-1955. Just like in the old black-and-white movies...right Debbie? Like..."Perry Mason." Or "Leave It To Beaver."

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I'm not sure what would be worse - labor or an endless loop of the Partridge Family!

hmm...that does sound nice - life in an old movie, with the great styles and music and dashing leading men....yeah, I could get used to that!

oh, and about Memphis and the NCAA - I'm really not a big fan of sports in general but college basketball is just about the only thing at which we as a city excel, as fans and athletes, oh well...it's back to the drawing board for next year....[sigh]

:grouphug:

:scared1: OMG labor is of course worse!!!!!

:rotfl:

I love watching Danny Bonaduce now in The Smoking Gun Presents shows. If you haven't seen those shows, they are must see! They are hysterical! And they have people like Leif Garret, Todd Bridges, and Screech AKA porn star .

My decade?
I want to be a 70's girl, hanging out at Studio 54, in a purple sparkly dress with platform shoes. :cool2: And I would also be hanging at the roller disco, when not at Studio 54. :thumbsup2 I would have purple sparkly laces in my roller skates with purple pom-poms. :rotfl:

No word on Honu yet? :confused3

Oh, Debbie, I can't believe Memphis lost; we really thought they would go to the Final Four!

Anxiously awaiting word on honu...
