I just finished a memoir Amber Earns her Ears, by Amber Sewell. She completed the college program and was assigned to the Seas at Epcot. I thought of you when she wrote "Just when you think you've seen all there is out of people, when you think they can do nothing more to surprise you, they pull out some grand stunt like trying to pass their two-year-old from one clam shell to another". She says she often has to say "Please do not pass your infant across the calm-mobiles!!".

Apparently this has been a longstanding issue! Jeesh! Reading about her adventures and yours makes me appreciate the CM on a different level! Glad you have your parents near by now for extra support!

OMG I remember reading about the drug busts at the hotel on FB. How absolutely harrowing. No, you do NOT see that on Disney property. Yikes!

I think the saddest moments were saying goodbye to Comerica Park and Ford Field and the morning we left. My grandparents came over to see us off and everyone was crying.

When we finally got to Florida my parents weren't too crazy about the place I picked out so we ended up having to find them a new apartment.

There's just no pleasing some people!

Living out of a hotel for the past (almost) week has driven everyone crazy though!

I can imagine.

The first hotel we were at had two drug busts while we were there!

Ooohhh... A hotel with its own variety show! How nice!

We did have time for some Disney though! So I will update you on those days once all of the pictures are added to Photobucket!

Work was a normal shift and it went by pretty quickly. The only thing to write home about would be the abundance of children in Turtle Talk who couldn't speak English. That usually makes for an awkward situation!

Never even gave that a thought! That must take some creativity to work around!

Catching Up... AGAIN

I just wanted to post some pics from the past couple weeks to catch y'all up to speed with my Disney and Universal fun!

My mom and I enjoyed the Frozen VIP package



The ice cream with the parade is such a nice touch!



We had great seats too!



For the welcome as well too



The Ice Men were awesome!



There were tons of desserts at the dessert party! We had to have it inside due to the rain.








I got my awesome shoes from Curl



We enjoyed a little time at Epcot



We went to the Villains Party



I was Lotso



Ben was Sid, Dad was Al and Mom was Stinky Pete the Prospector



Ben even wore his retainer so he had braces like Sid



Dad met her



We were deeply disturbed by the overly sexual Oogie Boogie Show



I got surrounded by characters trying to get a picture of the band



I was lucky enough to meet Star Lord and Gemora

Ben and I stayed at Cabana Bay and went to the putt putt place at Universal




We spent the day at Universal with my mom and loved the night time show!





So now you're all up to date!

Glad your parents are all moved in. The Frozen party looks like a lot of fun.
I didn't know that Universal had a night time show. We're going there for a day while we're down there but probably won't stay that long.

We will be in WDW in about two weeks. I'll keep my eye out for you. We are staying at the YC plan to spend most of our time at Epcot and DHS on this trip.

Hi Caitlin. I've been following along but like PP not wanting to be a creeper. You can tell we have teens.

I have a friend who is like an adopted little sis. She's a 25 yr old college junior. She's had a years where life threw her some lemons but she's amazing. She's in the application process and has had all her interviews. They told her she'll know by Oct for the January in comings. Being the DISer I am. I've been on the wave with her and praying like mad about it with her and dusting pixie dust on her like crazy.

As an older DCP yourself, any advice or words of wisdom...

I would be able to apply for a part time or full time position. I do not plan on staying at the Seas but I will continue to be there until January.

not a creeper at all!

I was older than the people I was roomed with so you have to be prepared to deal with a bit of the drama. I ended up feeling like I was in the "mom" role a lot of times and it got a bit discouraging. There will be older people at the location so she will have time to meet others around her age and not feel trapped in the high school drama all of the time. I would also recommend, if she is okay with people drinking and or drinks herself, to ask for non-wellness at least with that she will know all of the people will be over 21.

Glad to hear you aren't finished with your program. I didn't think so, but another post had made it seem that way. Glad to hear we may still run into you at Nemo!

The Universal party looked fun. We'll take our girls there in a few years when the 5 year old is bigger. She's a shrimp and probably wouldn't get on many of the rides there.

I love that Ben wore his retainer to be more like Sid.

OK cool. Right now I'm expecting to be in Epcot on the 18th so I will check in closer to that date to get a better handle on your schedule.
