Food & Wine Festival Home Made Ratings Cards

Hey all

I just finished making my Food & Wine Festival ratings cards. I got the idea from someone else on the Boards last year - he was nice enough to send me what he'd done. But his printed out 6 to a page of paper, you had to manually cut them apart, and then no good way to reinforce them or anything.

So last year, and this year, I've converted the information so it will print on standard 3" x 5" index cards that run through the printer (I use Avery 5388, 3 cards to a page). The document to print out the cards is in Microsoft Word 2003.

The Index cards are much thicker and easier to deal with than just printer paper - and everything is all one size. Once they are printed, I simply clamp them in a corner with a binder clip.

There is 1 Index Card for each kiosk/country. Each card lists the Country, number from the map, lists all of the food and beverages available, and each food/beverage line has a ratings area, 1-5, to let you rate what you liked and didn't like.

You can see a sample card on my blog.

I'll also bring my cards from last year, so we can see what we liked and didn't like last year. I'm bringing 3 sets, one for DH and I, one for Mom & Dad, and one for Brother and family who are also coming.

If anyone would like me to email them the MS Word document so you can print and use these cards, please send me a PM.

I hope this is helpful for everyone!

i would suggest punching a hole in them and using a ring to hold them

then you can flip through them easily :thumbsup2 Make a nice cover, maybe out of a heavier material or plastic

oh oh, cover an index card with fun disney fabric@! durable and cute

1) Sounds good.
2) Why not use the Avery Business Card stock.
. . . ten per page
. . . smaller to fit in pocket
. . . same thick stock for sturdiness

That is also a great idea, but not for me, I'm afraid. After 40, my eyes are not what they used to be, and we need to use our reading glasses already on the index card size, so I can't imagine trying to read a business card!

But for those of you with younger eyes, this may be a good way to get the info in a smaller package.

I do kind of the same thing, but I add pricing to mine. So I have to wait yet. :D I loved having them last year it makes traveling the world showcase so much more fun!

Last year we used the 4x6 index cards, punched a hole in the corner and used a carabiner clip to clip it to our bag. It was always handy.

It is a great souvenir. Too bad Disney doesn't make these - I think they would sell a ton. I can't tell you how many people came up to me and asked me where I got mine.

Jill -

I would love to get a copy of your Word document, but I just joined and have to have 15 posts to send you an email!! Wow. I guess I'd better get posting. We leave on Thursday!

::SIGH::

I still have my ratings cards from every visit during F&W the past few years. This will be the first in awhile we won't be there. DH and I often go through our F&W food porn pics trying to guess what we were sampling. In fact, on my digital picture fram in my office I have it cycling through the foods today.

Enjoy this year's tastings! I also agree the metal ring makes it easier to flip through the cards. I also attach a mini-sharpie (on keychain ring as well) for quick ratings.

Jill,

I do not have enough posts to PM you. Would you mind sending me a copy to prenatalnannies@gmail.com.

I CANNOT wait to get these. I am "semi-scrapping" something for each individual booths stamp and I cannot wait to add this to each booths card!

Thank you so very much!
