Firsts, Fourths, and Farewells (4/28 Back to the Future!)

I'm so glad the kids did not miss out on Ohana afterall! I have always wanted to try breakfast there and it really does look yummy.

I love everyone's matchy-matchy shirts. Cute!

I'm not sure what X is thinking about Lilo. He looks a little...skeptical...shall we say? :rotfl:

X was very anti-girl characters this trip, that's for sure.

And if you've never tried 'Ohana for breakfast, you should give it a try!
It's definitely one of our favorites.
It's fun, good food, monorail access to the parks afterwards, and you even get to see Mickey!

Yay Uncle J is back! :)

It looks like you day was off to a great start! Once again mom out did herself with the matching shirts :thumbsup2

All I need to do to prove you wrong on that one :crazy2: is to try it again but *not* during a trip down for the Goofy Challenge, and make sure not to overeat afterwards. :thumbsup2

Glad to have you back!
Our princess was really very excited to meet Rapunzel.
She loved Tangled and I think Rapunzel and Tiana are now among her favorite princesses.

Hopping off at the Ticket and Transportation Center, we transferred to the Epcot Monorail!
I took a cool Spaceship Earth closeup of the panels.
But apparently Mom and Unca decided to a have a field day and took ever angle and vantage point as we arrived in Epcot.
So here we go…

Finally we pulled into the station and they took a break (for now).
The park just opened so we headed straight for the Land pavilion to snag Soarin’ fastpasses.
Then we decided to hop on Living with the Land all together.
Disney2011DaySeven075.jpg

We sat right behind this person who seems like they’d be more at home at the Animal Kingdom.
The kids thought the style was cool.
Disney2011DaySeven077-1.jpg

But then Mom and Unca were at it again.
So we have more pictures of this ride than you can imagine.
Here’s our trip in detail…

Ok, so that wasn’t so bad.
But they really got carried away in the greenhouse.
I’ve never seen so many pictures of plants.
Have fun…

Now back to the good stuff.
Did you know there are tons of Hidden Mickeys on this ride?
I think we find a new one everytime we ride!

Disney2011DaySeven093-3.jpg

Disney2011DaySeven094.jpg

Disney2011DaySeven100-5.jpg

We always like this ride.
It’s relaxing, informative, and just plain cool.
It definitely made us want to take the Behind the Seeds tour (which Mom and Ray did on a later trip but that’s a different story).

So, now that we were back on land, what should we do while waiting for our Soarin’ fastpass window?
Any ideas?

Wow, the park looks pretty empty!

Great pictures throughout "The Land". I love all the Hidden Mickey's!

I'm guessing you visited Figment next?

I was definitely a slow day at Epcot.
And you are correct - it was time to visit a certain little purple dragon!

That is quite an impressive array of hidden Mickeys! Wow - that was some serious non-stop picture taking. Nice job!

I really like all the pictures taken from the monorail of the empty park. Mom got some great angles and views. Very nice!

Another update well documented by great photography.

Yeah, they got a little carried away with the pictures I think. :confused3
And with three cameras going this trip, we definitely have just about every angle of everything you can think of!! ;)

How else are you gonna get such good angles *AND* with virtually no pedestrian traffic visible/in the way? :thumbsup2

We decided to head next door for a quick visit with Figment to pass the time.
I still miss the original but at least Figment is back…

Disney2011DaySeven102.jpg

Disney2011DaySeven103.jpg

We just recently saw Flubber with the kids so they got a kick out of this since they now know what it is!
Disney2011DaySeven104-2.jpg

And they could hear the Flubber dancing and even see it behind this door!
Disney2011DaySeven104-5.jpg

Disney2011DaySeven104-4.jpg

However, I’m not sure what the reference to Dean Higgins is.
Anybody out there know?

This part is always funny.
Eric Idle is so glad it’s over.
Disney2011DaySeven123.jpg

Disney2011DaySeven124.jpg

And now…
Follow those purple feet!
Disney2011DaySeven125.jpg

Disney2011DaySeven125-1.jpg

Disney2011DaySeven125-2.jpg

Then it was time to Change the World.
Hooter, fire up the engines!!
Wooo hooo!
Disney2011DaySeven127.jpg

So many toys and stuff!!?!!
Which one do I choose?
Disney2011DaySeven128.jpg

I ended up going with a new Figment shirt instead as I wanted to check out the Captain Eo kiosk outside.
You can kinda see the purple Figment shirt in the back.
Outside, I was unimpressed by the EO attire so I decided to think on it.
Instead, I booked it to Innoventions while J took X to get Test Track fastpasses and Mom started back towards the Land for Soarin’.
X was still too small to ride and J volunteered to allow Mom and I a chance to ride together!

At Innoventions, I snagged some Kim Possible tickets and then headed back to meet the gang at Soarin’.
I found them at the Behind the Seeds Tour Desk reading about it.
Disney2011DaySeven129.jpg

Then we headed down the concourse and were off!
Disney2011DaySeven130.jpg

Disney2011DaySeven131.jpg

Another great flight as usual.
But now we were hungry.
Can anyone guess where J and X met us for lunch?

Didn't you guys already eat at Coral Reef? If not, that's my guess. For counter service I am going to guess Electric Umbrella.

I took a lot of the same pictures on Figment, but I think yours turned out better.

Now Michael Jackson saving the world is something I can live without. :rotfl:

Yup, we already did Coral Reef. Guess Again (and it *is* table service).

You don't like EO? It's so nostalgic, I love it.
And it sure beats Honey I Scared the Audience.

We headed back towards the World Showcase and met J and X as we neared Canada.
Yep, it was time for our favorite restaurant in all the world – Le Cellier!
Disney2011DaySeven132.jpg

It was a bit sunny out but since we were a little early, we had to stop for photos of course!

Disney2011DaySeven141.jpg

We were seated in New Brunswick this time.
If you didn’t know, the small restaurant is actually divided into sections – one for each Canadian province.
Mom, of course, was decked out with Canadian Mickey pins (for those new readers, Mom was born in Canada).
Disney2011DaySeven142.jpg

Disney2011DaySeven143.jpg

The menu had changed a bit since our last visit so we got to try some new things.
First, the famous pretzel bread and a nice frozen pina colada.
Disney2011DaySeven144.jpg

Then I opted to try the Duck Meatballs as an appetizer.
They were actually pretty good and I enjoyed them.
Disney2011DaySeven145.jpg

Mom and J went with the Lump Crabcakes.
Disney2011DaySeven146.jpg

Then the piece de resistance.
Our mouth-watering filet de mignons with the creamy mashed potatoes instead of the risotto.
Mom, J, and I all went with the same entrée.
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Disney2011DaySeven148.jpg

Our princess was excited as she got to get her own steak with steak fries.
Yes, this was a big deal – our princess’ first steak.
I was so proud!
Disney2011DaySeven149.jpg

The boys opted for butter noodles and grapes.
But we ordered the cheddar cheese soup for one of them.
Which we then used for dipping our pretzel bread.
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
