Hello there,
First timer to Universal Studios and also to the Halloween Horror Nights. I'm a Disney fan at heart but we want to try HHN this year. I've been doing a lot of research and would like to know if my plan seems do-able for what we want to do.
Since we have never been to the park, we plan to buy a regular park day ticket too. We dont expect to see the whole park but dont want to waste precious HHN minutes riding normal rides.
Our date is Wednesday October 21st.
So....buy regular day park ticket and enjoy a few rides. About 4pm we'll go to eat in one of the Holding Areas that offers food (Fennigans or Springfield, USA). I'd prefer Springfield USA because of the food/seating choices but it appears there are no reservations you can make there. Does this Holding Area get overly crowded? We plan to eat/rest for about 2 hours here and then be ready to leave the holding area at 5:45 to (hopefully) make it through one haunted house and get in line for the next before the general admission HHN folks reach the area. We -do- plan to purchase the FOL passes and stay late. Does this sound like to long of a day to try and pull off? We will be going at a leisurely pace.
Edit: Also, we are thinking about doing the Dining Plan with free refills on Coke. One meal would prob cost $15 for a burger and drink. Then we get a snack so thats easily $20 of the $26 DP price. If we just got 2 refills it pays for itself but I know we'd drink much more being there all day. It seems like a no brainer to me unless I'm missing something?
Thanks for any tips!
