Anything important to know about OKW? Also going in December is the resort decorated nice for Xmas?

It is decorated, usually with poinsettias in the flower beds andcolorful decorations on light poles, nothing over the top, but pretty.

If you are in a one bedroom or larger unit, and will have people sleeping on the sleeper sofa, you may want to be in Bldgs 30 or higher as there is a second intrance to the master bath through the laundry room. Buildings 29 and lower have one entrance to the master bath, through the master bedroom.

If you are booked into a "Near Hospitality House" unit, which is a booking category, none in that category have the second entrance to the master bath.

We like the Turtle Pond area as the 1 beds have the 2 doors the bath(like Chuck mentioned) yet it isnt too far from HH area. We also stayed in bldg 63 once near HH area, love that, but it is hard to land. It has elevator. We love the peacefulness of OKW, the laid back feel, boat to DTD, hanging out with DS in the Community Hall area. Enjoy!

DVC resorts are not known for extensive Christmas decorations compared to the Deluxe resorts. If you haven't had a chance to visit the other resorts during Christmas, you should take the time to do so.

Let's see, what else should you know?

There is a lovely walkway from the "back" of OKW (near the 50s buildings) to DTD. It's paved and along the canal and is a nice way to stroll to DTD. If you use one of OKW's bikes you can ride to the West Side parking lot and back (can't take the bike into DTD).

Olivia's is one of the best kept secrets at OKW.

We've always enjoyed the decorations at OKW, but over the years they have made them less elaborate. There used to be a time when hot cider and roasted chestnuts were part of the holiday celebration. That hasn't happened in a long time.

We love to walk, and OKW has many places where that can be done. If you aren't thrilled with walking here and there within the resort, you can always hop on a resort bus. They will drop you at the bus stop, or the HH (on the way out).

Be sure to check the daily activities! They are worth attending if you are at the resort and want something to do other than relax.

Enjoy your stay at OKW. It's our favorite DVC resort (but you already figured that out). LOL.

I have two words for you.....CONCH FRITTERS.

enough said.
