Are they still allowing members staying at other DVC resorts to view fireworks from the top of BLT?

How early should we get there to get a spot?

We are at BLT on points right now. We got up to the lounge around 15 minutes before the fireworks and there were plenty if spots at the rail. We watched from further back because my 8 y/o couldn't see and still had a fantastic view!

so long as you are a dvc member and staying at a dvc property, you will be allowed into top of the world.

although it is very nice to hang out up there.... there's no need to get there more than 10 minutes early.

last time i stayed at BLT, i would throw laundry in at night, go have a drink at the the lounge, watch wishes, then fold laundry..... my point being it was very easy and casual to access the lounge

if you come in on the first floor - just go to the desk

if you come in on the fifth floor (thru CR) - then you need go to the first floor desk at BLT.

here is where you show your Key and sometimes you also need the blue DVC membership card (some are gray)

then you will be taken to the north side elevators and the CM does the button for the 16th floor.

Remember that you cannot park at BLT or the CR. You need to take Disney transportation or park at the TTC.

Based on our experience, they don't appear to enforce this all that well. Always seem to see people walking from MK to BLT only to see them get in their car and drive off. Granted, could be someone staying at BLT and driving to DTD or somewhere rose at 9-10:00. But that seems unlikely for the number of people I see getting in a car.

Sent from my SAMSUNG Note2 using DISBoards

We had dinner at the Wave, so were allowed to park at Contemporary.

When we were there they didn't ask us for a Members Card. Not even a room key or where are you staying? We were staying at BLT, maybe they recognized us.

If you just want to watch fireworks 10 minutes is plenty of time, but if you want a drink or something to eat, or somewhere inside to sit, I would get there 30-45 minutes before the show. It can get busy right before fireworks.

Would this include party nights? I'm wondering if it would worth it on our MK day to head over after the park closes to see the holiday wishes show. I know people buy party tickets to see the show but people watch from the poly and CR. Just wondering if they allow you outside?

Sunday was a MNSSHP party. The music from HalloWishes was piped in. The black outs for this year are Dec 30-31 if you are not staying at BLT.

Does anyone know if they will be keeping this open to all DVC members into 2014? Hoping to head back up to the lounge in January! 86 more days :)

depends upon the numbers - so for you all who don't stay at BLT - maybe-

if the financial situation has improved for the lounge - fairly sure they will - if not - then it will either open for all guests staying at BLT - DVC member or not - and maybe those from the CR. - or they close the lounge - hope not!

like my drink before the fireworks!:cheer2:

So is the reason why they have opened it up to more people is because the lounge has been slow? Hope they don't close it!

We will be there on 10/31 and not going to MNSSHP. Was hoping to get the kids in their pjs after dinner and head up to the lounge (staying at BLT). Think it will be extra crowded because of Hallowishes? Wondering how early we should try and snag a spot for seats. We could always get up for the fireworks.

would expect 10/31 to be crowded - so maybe half hour - the fireworks for party nights are at 9:30 instead of 9:00pm

kept in mind that wall is high and no windows for little ones to see.

9:30???? The kids will be puddles by that time. lol Hmm...maybe we'll just leave the dads in the rooms with the kids and the moms will go have a drink upstairs. That sounds like a much better plan. ;)
