Yeah I can't see Disney doing that. Seaworld is a theme park. Disney is in the theme park business. Disney owns two theme parks that have animals in captivity. Epcot has one of the largest tanks in the world with sea life from all over the world. AK is the best themed zoo in the world.

So...I take it you've never watched The Circle of Life video at Epcot? You know, the one where the animals discuss the destruction caused by stopping up a riverway to build a waterpark...and this movie is shown in a park that they built on a swamp that was drained. Right next to a waterpark that they built on the filled in swamp.

What does this have to do with anything? My point was I don't think Disney would make a movie about something they have done. The circle of life movie is not a well visited attraction. Disney isn't going to produce a Pixar movie about something that they have done which is have animals in captivity in tanks and enclosures.

Wow, people have short memories. The first Shrek movie took huge digs at Disney in the whole arrival at Duloc sequence (probably a lot more vicious than anything about Seaworld that will be in the Nemo film):

Eh, I think that is a dig at all theme parks and not just disney. I also don't see anything "vicious " about it.

I think the icing on the cake for me that I haven't seen mentioned is that they have a whole building named after the Nemo franchise where marine life is kept in captivity. Thus, the Nemo movie is criticizing the Nemo attraction. That would blow my mind.

I thought that seaworld only did rescues or kept animals born into captivity who couldn't survive in the wild?

Sure, because the DIS board has the reach and scope as TMZ or E!. It's not that they don't have a right to voice their opinion, it's the fact that they are frequently looked at as subject matter specialists on issues they have NO business opening their mouths on publicly. Case in point. . .Jenny McCarthy. Congratulations, you showed your bits and pieces, repeatedly, and acted like a gross moron in the process, let's give her the podium and mic and let her tell us exactly how we should raise our children. She WAS given a spotlight, she was on the cover of People Magazine touting her stupidity, and the View (another brilliant opportunity for celebrities).

But you do have a point, it's not that they use their celebrity to spout incorrect information that is so dangerous, as the morons who lend credence to their position and re-post it.

This! Most celebrities are no more experts about things than the average Joe on the street and it always amazes how some out there hang on their every word. I love it when they say what they think just as I love the opinions of those on the Disboards but that's all any of it is, just opinions.
