Sure, because the DIS board has the reach and scope as TMZ or E!. It's not that they don't have a right to voice their opinion, it's the fact that they are frequently looked at as subject matter specialists on issues they have NO business opening their mouths on publicly. Case in point. . .Jenny McCarthy. Congratulations, you showed your bits and pieces, repeatedly, and acted like a gross moron in the process, let's give her the podium and mic and let her tell us exactly how we should raise our children. She WAS given a spotlight, she was on the cover of People Magazine touting her stupidity, and the View (another brilliant opportunity for celebrities).
But you do have a point, it's not that they use their celebrity to spout incorrect information that is so dangerous, as the morons who lend credence to their position and re-post it.
