It's really not a good use of your points for DCL .. Much better normally to rent your points out and pay cash for the cruise. Have you thought about that option?

Yes, we have....I finally called DVC yesterday to figure out the points/vs cash difference.

498 points for a 4 night cruise! Crazy! If we do end up doing, I am going to wait and see if they reconfigure some of their routes...

I think for that amount of dough- we are going to do California first!

Many rent the points and use that towards the cruise instead...
