When people talk to me sometimes I'm getting stuff out of my bag or doing something but I'm still listening.
But I can tell when my friends are listening or not, if they aren't I just stop talking and if they don't say anything then I know they aren't.

Most of the time I do, but I'm known for my eyes to wander every now and then, or if I'm nervous I look just in their area.
Again, most of the time I do, especially with people who don't know me. My friends know I like to be ultra-observant, so I like to look around, but they know I'm listening
I don't mind, it's a little disrespectful if they don't know me, but it's not the top of my list.

I believe the nature of one's eyes show their true feelings and expressions. You can learn a lot about a person just by looking into their eyes.

usually, unless i'm speaking with someone i have a deep connection with, i unfocus my eyes and just look towards their nose. to them, it LOOKS like i'm making eye contact, but i'm not.

when i have to give the impression of confidence, i stare at the spot between people's eyes. again, it LOOKS like eye contact, but my eyes don't waver between their eyes. it appears stronger and more self-assured.

when i'm with someone i know very well/have a deep connection with, i look into their eyes when i talk, or when they talk.

its not that i don't like making eye contact, i just tend to have a short attention span, and i end uplooking at whats behind them. so i unfocus my eyes to prevent that.

That seems to be my problem. I can look into someones eyes for a short time, and then my eyes will wander everywhere.

Yes almost everytime I look in the eye of person I am talking to and expect the same from others but if someone don't so that it means either he/she is nervous or trying to lie to me.
