Exercise rooms and age limits

We are cruising to Alaska on the Wonder soon! My daughter was looking forward to exercising with me early in the morning on the ship (we live on the East coast and will have a 3/4 hour time difference on the Alaskan cruise and will probably be up quite early). She was reading about the cruise and saw that the gym is open to all hose over 18. She turns 16 in a few weeks. Anyone have experience with this? Would they allow her in if we were together? She would just be exercising right next to me. She is really bummed because she was looking forward to early morning workouts. Thanks for any insight!

They are strict about age limits.

You can always walk/run on deck 4 together.

Adult-only areas are just that -- for adults only, ages 18+. DCL is strict and does not waive this. If she likes running or walking, there is a track on deck 4. Or you could probably do some early morning exercises together on deck, just not in the fitness center.

There may be a night that the Vibe "invades" the gym and the teens are allowed access. If she's interested in this, she should make sure she mentions it at the planning session held the first night at Vibe.

Enjoy your cruise!

Do an internet search for crossfit workouts you can do at home. There are a ton of things you can do together on the pool deck before it gets busy. I took my yoga mat and did yoga and tai chi in the morning at satellite falls on the fantasy. It was a great way to start the day, one morning as we were approaching Cozumel there were even a bunch of dolphins escorting us in.

Vibe goes to the gym sometimes - my teens enjoyed that.
Also, you can play 1:1 basketball together early in the morning up on deck!
HAVE FUN!

The fitness center is 18+. On our cruise this past April people were bringing their children (ages 3 up to teens) and were asked to leave. There were repeat offenders and the staff's stance was the same.....please leave. Deck 4 is good for running and walking together. You can also do lunges, squats, etc.

As others mentioned, they strictly enforce the age minimum. Also as others mentioned, Vibe sometimes has a "Pump it Up" session where they go to the fitness center for 1 hour. However, I recomment going to the open house before you set sail to impress upon the counselors that you really, really like the Pump it Up sessions. In our experience, they don't always go even though it's in the schedule. It seemed that they only did that on at-sea days, but only when they felt like it. On our sailing in the Med last month, it was also only from 9PM - 10PM. Kinda late and collided with shows and/or dinner.

My daughter went with Vibe on the second night I think, and it was on the schedule so she just went all the other nights too. We had late dinner, so she'd leave dinner and just go directly there. Sometimes other Vibe kids were there, sometimes not. No one ever said a word to her, and in fact one night she almost got locked in because no one knew she was in there and there was no one else in the spa at all. She plays a spring sport and needed to remain in shape while we were at sea. It was on the schedule, so I don't consider that she was breaking any rules.

The morning is different. It is usually packed and the staff will enforce the rules.
