* hug for Jade *
First let me say...that it's so easy to get caught up in wanting to plan and go time and again, especially reading this board. So I understand.
Secondly..it's so important for Your family to be able to get by and do good on a daily basis.. so You need to put that first and the fun vacation time second. It's one of those hard adult decisions we all have to make from time to time. And it seems they never are easy. If they were then children could make them and they would all say let's go to
disneyland today tomorrow next week and the week after.
Third...Disneyland is not going anywhere.. it will be there for You when You are able to go.
It's important that You can sleep at night. I truly would urge You to listen to that little voice within You that is telling You this is not the right time.
You could try selling Your halloween tickets on ebay. We just bought some TTMM tickets there.
Your son will understand.. all You have to do is show him a front newspaper from any paper around the country for him to see the economy is not doing so well. Explain that not now doesn't mean never. And let him know that You have been looking for this trip more than he has.
What if you kept the money You have saved and continue to save then at christmas give each other Disney cards that You could use to purchase food with in the park. Or give each other a homemade coupon for the Segway tour.. just be sure to prepay your savings with that money amount.
I am sorry You are having to make this decision..it's hard.
I would urge you to make the choice that ensures daily life for your family is secure and continue your hopes and dreams and plans for your disneyland trip...at a later date when you can relax and go with peace that it is the right time for your family.
