Eisner won't leave Disney early

Michael Ei$ner plans to quit the company's board when his contract expires in 2006, but said he won't leave Disney before then as some prominent shareholders have demanded. He made his comments in the October 4 issue of Fortune magazine.

There was some muttering when Eisner first discussed retirement from the CEO position that he might 'retire' to Chairman of the Board. This has since been refuted.
