Easter week WITHOUT FOTL

Our family of 5 will be staying at Portofino Bay from Sat 4/8 to Mon 4/10 next year. My niece will be joining us on 4/10 so we will probably be moving to a 2 br resort for the rest of the week. (Getting two rooms at any of the Universal Resorts is way beyond our budget.) We hope to buy her a FOTL pass for 4/10 so she can stick with us. Can we buy this ahead of time?

Also, all of our park passes are good for 5 to 7 days. Should we even bother to try to come back later in the week without FOTL privileges and if so, what strategies would you suggest? How bad will the lines be? Does Universal have a FASTPASS type of thing? Thanks.

They do have a Fastpass type program called Express and it is free but a bit different, you pick the times. If you decide to go back without FOTL it is imperative to be there first thing as they open and use the single riders line. Have never bought the FOTL pass, only gotten them from the hotel so hopefully someone else will know. You do have the FOTL priviledge before your room is ready so go on your first day you check in and you can go on the day you check out also.

It is busy but is doable.

Also, if it happens to rain it scares people off and can be a surprisingly slow day : )

It's called Express, and it's approx $20-$35 per park, per person, for the ticket unless you use the free one.
