Dreams Unlimited - Good? Bad?

We booked "tentatively" with AAA and then looked for a quote with Dreams Unlimited. They were $100 higher. There will also be no AAA diamond parking with Dreams Unlimited which really HELPED out at Epcot. Not so much at the other Theme Parks.

We have used Rhonda at DU for our last two trips. Although it will be another 2 years before we take the baby for her first trip, we plan to use Rhonda again for that one. In the meantime, we just keep sending our friends to her.

I actually like the email system. I can send her questions and know that she will answer when she has time. I actually did talk to Rhonda once on the phone but only because she needed my credit card number to book an ADR or something.

I think the service is great and you cannot beat them looking out for a better deal. They do not just drop you once your ressies are made.

Not AAA members so cannot compare for you.

I just got back from my second trip through Dreams. They are great. They answer questions very quickly and seem to know everything :thumbsup2

Has anyone ever used Small World Vacations, I know this is a little off topic, but I was just curious.:thumbsup2

We're using them for the second time for our trip this September. We working the amount ourselves and requested a quote from DU and SW Vacations and SW won and was $200 less than DU. So...we went with them. Our agent has been wonderful!! We just got our packet yesterday and the amount of information she included was amazing!

For the past six years we have doing our vacation planning ourselves. This year I could not get our Disney Visa discount on the dates/resort we are going. I tried DU and our agent Beth was able to book what we wanted. She has done all our ADR and much more. Yes, you do lose some control, but our confirmation package we received was exactly as expected. Be taking to you next year Beth !!!

Used them for my first trip , which I returned from a week and a half ago. They were great to deal with.

Tried to get a quote from them for a possible trip in Dec. 2007. I placed my request over a week agao ( almost 10 days) and other than an email confirming they rec'd my request.....I have heard NOTHING. Makes me a bit nervous about using DU for my vacation planning. :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

I have not used them, but I am considering using them for our next trip. Not long ago, I requested a quote for our dates, just to get an estimate for what to expect. I got word back from an agent in just a few days. My only thing is that I like to make my own ADRs. Can I still do that using DU or do I have to let them handle that?

Certainly you can make your own ADR's. They are there to help, use their ADR service if you want, or if you prefer not to, don't.

I currently have a trip booked with DU. I really love the service, and, for me, I look forward to NOT having to sit on line with Disney Dine.... :cool1:

We used DU for our first trip with kids last year - we loved it. Rhonda worked hard to get us all the ADRs we wanted (I did CRT myself tho) and dealt with a fair amount of stupid questions on our part. She was great and we are seriously considering booking again through her for our next trip in April!

I just finished using DU to take care of our family of 15! Communication was excellent! Rooms were all adjoining or next to each other as requested, and Beth was even able to pull ADR's for CRT for breakfast, and Le Cellier, and that was for a party of 15! I couldn't have been any happier with the service that DU provided, and the family now thinks that I am just a brilliant trip planner! I can take credit right?:thumbsup2 :rolleyes1

Yes I have numerous times and I am very happy with their service
I especially like that I can call and speak with a live person
Email is great but sometimes you just need to speak to your agent

Hi Guys - whats AAA? And I suppose Dreams Unlimited is cheaper than buying the tickets from disney direct?

Aussie

In a nutshell, AAA is the American Automobile Association, a country-wide group that assists will travel, car insurance, car road emergencies, etc. If you're a member you can get discounts at many travel destination across the U.S., including Disney World. But the WDW discounts are selective: room only and tickets. That's it.

Dreams Unlimited is a travel agency that will help you with anything travel-related. They cannot give you a discount, but will help you find a discount if you qualify. Disney is very stringent on giving discounts, so it is very helpful to have a travel agent who knows where to look for them, and since DU specializes in Disney-realted travel, they are great about that.

Hope this helps!

For over 30 years I've always booked everything myself.

A couple of years ago, as a way to support the DIS, I contacted Sue Ellen at DU.

In a word, Fantastic!:flower3:

She books several trips each year for us and always is diligent in looking for AP, AAA, or room only special rates.

She is great! :thumbsup2

Have used DU 3 times now and I can highly reccommend their service. We used one other specialist WDW TA once and I didn`t like their service at all.
We`ll stick with DU :thumbsup2

this is the first time i have dealt with du and must say, i am a little nervous. the ta has sent an email that she is now only working part time. she also has just sent an email that i assume was sent in mass about codes for oct. she was able to get some the deal but not others and i did not get the warm and fuzzies from her reply about not emailing her if we did not hear from her. i am wondering, if there is a deal and i have my ressies with du, do i have to let them do the calling or can i. if my ta is so busy with others will she have time for mine? just a thought.
i had decided to give du a try because so many people love them but not sure it was a wise idea. they gave me the same rate i could get right from the disney site so really, no advantage. i guess i will just wait and see.popcorn::

Is it possible to ask for your account to be transferred to an agent that works full time?

i'm not sure. don't know how they work. i'm not to concerned, i'll just keep my nose to the ground and see if i get wind of anything. i will tell you though, if a code comes up and i am not able to use it becase the ta has to do it for us and she doesn't.....i'll be really pissed. i'm just not sure i will use them again, i just don't see the point.:confused3

The morning the codes are released the DU agents are on the phones trying to get the discounts for their clients. Many times Disney released a limited number of rooms or resorts with the discounts so it can be frustrating when you hear that people got codes or discounts and you didn't.
