Participates of our free trip from AAA travel Agency - Nov. 2-Nov. 7, 2000
(Airlines, hopper passes for 6 days, and moderate resort hotel for 5 nights.)
Ken - 37 - never been to Disney world - love any ride
Deann - 36 - 3rd time to Disney world - favorite ride - Its a Small World
Crystal - 12 - never been to Disney world - more thrilling the better.
Nov. 1, 2000 -Thursday evening - 1st night - Pecos Bills at Magic Kingdom for supper - Great hamburger for the price 5.50 with fries.
(rode the train from main street to Frontierland.)
Did splash mountain right before the fire works... no wait.
Nov. 2, 2000 - Friday morning - 1st full day - up early for early entry.
Had character breakfast at Garden Grill for 10:30 but couldnâÂÂt get to the rides
on that end of the park till 9AM. ( No use to go to early entry because still canâÂÂt get over to Innovations East/West side )
Garden Grill was great - food was wonderful and characters were excellent will all ages. - price 15.95
Sent picture email at Innovations - idea is to send it to home and then when you get home send to your friends/family because only able to send one email at a time.
Also got a free family picture via Xerox. in the same building which we could take home with out a price ( like all the other rides/restaurants picture takings. )
Test Track was not for Deann - (donâÂÂt let anyone talk you into it.... if you donâÂÂt like fast/jerky rides. ) But Ken and Crystal loved it. ( used fast passes which we just walked right in at our scheduled time. )
Ran out of energy that day to head over to World Showcase - Epcot is definitely 2 day park.
Friday night ordered pizza at the hotel - Port Orleans - and had delivered at room..
Pizza was made incorrectly so for our inconvience they sent up 2 breadstick orders which I thought was great customer service. Then got a second wind and headed over to Dixie Landings via boat to play arcades and a little shopping (Dixie Landings has a bigger gift shop then Port Orleans.)
Nov. 3 - Saturday morning - again got up early for early entry at MGM - and again decided wasnâÂÂt worth it because all the good rides (Tower of Terror /Rock n roller coaster didnâÂÂt open till 9AM) Ate mid morning snack at 50âÂÂs Primetime cafe - ordered ice cream sundaes and banana split - they remind you no elbows at table and have to ask to be excused from the table... a lot of fun for all ages. Your table is like sitting in a 50âÂÂs kitchen with each table having 50 style TV's working running sitcoms in that era. A lot of Characters at MGM... all the Winnie the Pooh characters are on Mickey Ave right before you get to the Back lot Pass and Cinderella/Prince Charming and Mary Poppins was when you exit the Movie Ride.
Saturday evening tried to do some rides at Tomorrow land at Magic Kingdom and then watch the lighted evening parade. (DonâÂÂt believe the postings that Nov. is not busy.- More people then right before spring break in Feb.) We were unable to get on any rides with out waiting more then 1 hour and Ken gave up on the parade and headed back to the hotel.. Crystal and Deann waited for 2 hours and ended up to get a glimpse of the lights on the tall floats peeking through dozen of heads.
Nov. 4- Sunday morning. Slept in slightly and headed to Animal Kingdom.
A lot of Characters right in the entrance so be ready with Autograph books and cameras. Had Character breakfast at Reastaurantousaurus. Do not recommend at all. Not like all the other character breakfast buffets we have ate at. Food was terrible. You thought it had been out all morning - cold and rubbery... Characters were pushed through your table by a person rushing them through. Did not have much time to correspond with the Characters. NOT WORTH 15.95.
Tough to be a Bug was too much for Deann - pretty intense and even get stuck by a bee in your seat.
Sunday Night - Rode the boat from Port Orleans over To Downtown Disney. Great shopping - got Christmas ornaments/Christmas Cards at Christmas Store and Pocketed t-shirts for Ken at World of Disney. Ate Supper at McDonalds.
Nov. 5- Monday Morning - Early Entry to Magic Kingdom but again had to wait for Adventure land to open at 9AM. Finally got sometime to ride most rides... Got Deann on Splash Mountain but never again. We did get to ride Its a Small World and Winnie the Pooh was DeannâÂÂs Favorites. Spent most of the day at Magic Kingdom and early evening headed back to Hotel to start packing for our trip home Tuesday.
Ken and Deann took an evening stroll around Port Orleans and Dixie landings.
Nov. 6 - Tuesday Morning - Headed over to Contemporary Hotel for Chef Mickey'sâ character Breakfast via bus to Magic Kingdom and then monorail to Contemporary.
As always food was fantastic and Characters was interactive with all.
Packed up and headed to airport via TiffanyâÂÂs Town car ( driver Tony was the best! recommend company anytime. ) was 85 when we left FLA and 19 degrees/ snow and ice on car at airport in NE. (Got to spend an extra day in Omaha compliments of United because of lost luggage in Chicago because of delay leaving Orlando and almost missing flight in Chicago. )
Ken is a smoker and was not impressed with the designated areas being highlighted very well among the parks or in convenient areas of the activities.
Like mentioned before November is busy...........and a lot of people and long lines.
We will not be going again in the fall. Beginning of February is our favorite time.
We would pick Port Orleans over Dixie Landings just because of the hotel rooms more conveniently located to the pool/food court/bus stop then Dixie Landings.
