Hey Gang,

We are heading out on Saturday for our first ever WDW trip. Driving in from Texas should be fun! I have two boys, first grade and kinder. We'll be celebrating one of their birthdays while we are there.

What is the ONE item I should not leave home without????

Your credit card. As long as you have that, you can replace anything you may have forgotten to pack. LOL!!!

Some things you may not think to bring though are sunscreen, chapstick, matbe some birthday candles and a lighter. I don't like the pillows at WDW and try to bring my own if I can. Seriously though, you'll be fine.

Camera, extra socks and underwear & a great attitude. Everything else is extra. Enjoy the time together & watch your kids have the time of their lives.:)

Since you mentioned the birthday,
the birthday boy's birth certificate and the print out from when you registered his birthday with WDW.

SNEAKERS!!!

I made the mistake of saying, "It's Florida-damnn it I'm wearing flipflops!!" my first time to the world and boy was I hurting by day 2!

if you are flying your id.

Had a friend and husband arrive at the airport. She left her driver's license at home thinking that since she wasn't driving she wouldn't need it. Got to the first security area and saw the have your id and boarding pass ready and went into total meltdown. They both started making calls. Finally reached someone who had to drive 45 minutes to get it to her. Husband proceeded through security telling her he was going without her if she missed the flight.
She waited outside, grabbed the id when they drove up, she got escorted through security quickly and when she arrived at the gate, the entire area stood up and applauded her arrival. Needless to say, she never leaves home without it.

Photo ID if you are flying! Camera and extra battery pack. Water shoes or crocs for the kids ( there are lots of opportunities to get wet at Disney). A backpack for the parks. Sunscreen, chapstick SPF, Tylenol, and hats!

I would also place all of your printouts, conformation numbers, and itinerary in a folder and keep it with you on your carryon bag! That way everything you need is at hand. Have an awesome trip:)

we're heading from Texas to Disney on Sat too! If your boys have a security item, don't forget that.

Camera, extra batteries and charger if you use one. Extra memory cards for digital camera. I would even get a few disposables for the boys to take their own pictures. We did that for dd and the pictures are some of my favorites they are from her point of view and what she really wanted to see and remember.

We bring a "meltdown backpack" its a small pack that has some crayons a coloring book, favorite small toy, little dollar tree things that if lost it doesn't matter. flash light, glow sticks. and room for a comfy item. Lines get long and night too, so when taking a break inside the parks there is something for the kids to do so they dont get grumpy and bored. Even kids with out special needs get sensory overload and need to just focus on one thing or have a comfy item to relax with.

sunglasses for all. tissue pack, seriously...kids birthday first time in Disney you very well could have water falls down your face. I did our first time, and second and ....during fireworks. haha What can I say... Disney makes me just a magical emotional kid.

sorry , i know this has nothing to do with the question, but are your kids in school? Are you taking them out for the trip or do they have off at the time you are going? i am just curious because i am having trouble with my school board here about the 3 days i kept my kids from school for mardi gras when we just went to DISNEY! they were not off the whole week only three days , they can only miss so many days before you have to go to court which i think is so rediculous!

drivers license, credit card, health ins. cards, tickets, ressie's... anything else you forget, you can buy.

have a great trip!!

Just FYI, and in response to the whole "bring your ID" posts, you actually CAN fly without it (trust me, I unfortunately speak from experience!). I lost my ID while visiting my parents and realized I lost it the night before I was to fly home. You fly as what's called an "exemption flyer" (or something along those lines - I can't believe I can't remember the exact term since I repeated it so many times). You present yourself to the airlines and to security and they do a search on you and it takes longer to get through security, but it can be done. I did all this with a one-year-old and a seven-year-old during Thanksgiving break. And I'm still here to tell about it!!! Anyway, it's actually IN YOUR RIGHTS to not show people your license and personal information.:thumbsup2

Pillows! If you are the kind of person who doesn't sleep well without your own worn in pillows.. don't forget your pillows. I think that was the only thing we forgot in our rush to get out the door the morning we left for FL.
