"Don't forget a picture of the food!" Updated 8/16! A Fall TR!

I loved the mine train too. It is a perfectly fun ride! I could ride it over and over.
We ate upstairs in CHH too. It is so nice up there! Loved it.

Just read all your report and it looks like you had so much fun. Your girls are so incredibly cute :)

Yay, you're back! I faithfully lurked on your pre-trip report and read this and then you disappeared but excited that you are getting it going again

A little late to the party but subbing! Delighted to see your 2 yo doing so well! That's my one worry regarding our trip. Your trip report has definitely given me a huge confidence boost!!

Just read through - enjoying your report! Hanson AND Disney - ummm, yes please. Woman after my own heart. Reading about the monorail hold up and cramped boat had me stressing for you! Your girls are super cute. Looking forward to more!

Love your TR's! So jealous of your upcoming trip to DL, I'm hoping to make the journey out west in 2017:yay:

I am all caught up. Loved the rompers. So very cute on them. I try to stay away from the monorail after D~'s trip reports. Now another person that had problems, just proves I need to stay off of them. Never had a problem with the DLR monorail, but it only goes from DTD to Tomorrowland.

Loved the pictures from 7DMT. So glad you were able to get the rider swap thing after he already went through. Most of us liked that one, but my tall son. He felt too cramped.

I have never done Chef Mickey's or Columbia Harbour House, but both are on my list, if I ever decide to go back.

That rain is something else. I love the idea of just riding whatever you can get a FP for.

Hope you are having a good week.

This is fantastic! You girls look like you're having the ride of your lives!

We ordered our food and headed upstairs and found ourselves a quaint little table by window, with a great view. And look at this!! We were the only ones in this area!!!

LOVE it! My So and I ate there in 2012 and had the same experience; empty upstairs, great view. I'm glad your thank you cards were a hit! we want to do some for our trip in Sept.

DOLE WHIP TIME!! :banana::banana::banana:

There is always time for Dole Whip!

Wooooooooooo!!! I am loving your trip!! I just came back to the boards recently and I read your report and then it stopped and I was all oh noes!!! But then what timing! You return with trip-y goodness!

Your daughters are freakin adorable! Maddy cracks me up! I'm thinking she's going to be a little heck raiser!! And huge props to Olivia for taking on Tower of Terror! I think thats amazing!

I want to say boo to the rain at MK....but hoping it helped clear out the crowds!

Can't wait to see more! So excited to see all the shirts you put so much thought and time into, in action!!

I love being able to do that with the 4th+ FP+. You can just keeping riding and riding if you're willing to just take whatever comes up with no wait. Kinda fun. Looks like you had a great time, despite the crazy rain. Love the pic of Chris with the Dole Whip shirt and eating a Dole Whip. We really enjoy that quiet upstairs seating area of CHH too.

I'm so glad you and Olivia got to sit in the front of your mine car so we can see her in the picture! She looks like she's having a great time!!

Yay, dumbo! We still haven't played in the play area. I just keep hustling the girls past so we can ride. I'm so mean.....

Poor Maddie--all soaked in the rain!

I like the way your doing the park just based on what fastpass you can get next. That's a fun way to do it!

We've never eaten at Columbia harbor house because we don't eat fish/seafood and for some reason I always think that's all they have. We might have to check it out.

Yes! So glad we can see her in that photo! And FYI the back of the Mine Train is the BEST! It goes FASTER!

The Dumbo play area is magnificent, nice cool AC and a chance for me to SIT! LOOOOOVE it!

No poor Maddie here, she loved being in the rain, lol..

And it totally worked out with the FP, we kinda had to hop around but it worked well for us, and we did this most our MK days.

So glad to see you back! Excited to read more about your trip!

I love the pictures from Chef Mickey's! And I see Daisy - that must be a special appearance. I've never seen her there before!

I'm sorry for your transportation troubles. How frustrating when you just want to get there!

I love the family shots and magic shots of the girls in front of the castle!

Very cute haircuts and pixie dust. How special to have their first haircuts at Disney!

You got so much done in just a few hours! All the boys LOVED Small World. I think we rode it 4 times during our trip. And that's great that the CM was so understanding at 7DMT - that rider swap pass is crucial there!

Boo for all the rain! Glad you found some indoor attractions to take care of. And I really need to make sure we get to Columbia Harbor House next trip - I love that view from upstairs!

Yes! Everyone realized that about Daisy! I didnt really think about it at the time, but it was special!

Hahahha, oh Small World... I dont even know how many times we rode it... at least 2-3 times each MK day...

YES!!! 7DMT!!!! isn't it just the cutest ride?!?!? Olivia looks like she loves it as much as you do!
Fantastic your raising Dis kids!!! :cloud9: can't wait for the nest update!!

I love 7DMT! It is cute! Yay for Dis kids!!!!!

I'm glad you figured the new format out. I haven't been on here for a couple of months at least, so glad to be back to take in your updates. Of course it goes without saying your girls are adorable! You know their smiles just melt my heart! Loved all the pics, the hair cuts, the Dapper Dans. We love to catch them each time we go at some point. To be honest, the talking Mickey sort of threw our granddaughter Charlotte for a loop. She was not expecting him to talk to her! But she warmed up pretty quickly…he was so good with her! It was a real surprise to us that he talked. Magical!

I love that Olivia will do the mine train. Isn't is soooo fun?!! I wish it were longer, but it is such fun and so well done with all the visual effects. Glad it worked out for the ride swap.

Sorry about the downpour, but looks like it didn't slow you down any. That's what we always do as well, just keep on truckin'.

I didn't know about that bench at the Contemporary. Such cute photos there!! And it looked like great interaction with the characters, too! Dan and I went last September and Goofy was the only character to come to our table. Mickey had just approached our table when the handler interrupted to take him back where he had just come from with a promise to come right back. Never did. We were pretty bummed over the entire experience. We had a very long wait to be seated and it went downhill from there. But so glad your experience was totally different. It's so special to see the girls' faces all lit up in smiles.

Columbia Harbour House is one of our very favorite places to eat. We always eat upstairs and have often had it mostly to ourselves. Just such a great break from the noise and crowds! And I also love the shrimp basket! The only reason we found it was we did the Keys to the Kingdom tour and that's where we had lunch. We were hooked!

One other thing I wanted to comment on was the fact that both your girls went on POC and Haunted Mansion. Do they like those attractions? We didn't even try Miles on either one when we went in April. We talked to him about POC, but he didn't want to do it.

Can't wait to read more about your trip. So far, its ticking all my boxes!! Love!!

I really hope to do one of the tours someday, looks like fun!! And Olivia LOVES the Mine Train, one of her top 3 faves for sure. Both girls love POC and they love HM too, but they do get a little scared each time when we first go in, but they just hold onto us and then end up enjoying it and ready to go back on again right after! I think for my girls, they go on rides all the time, from the moment they were tall enough for them, so they are rarely ever too scared to ride something. If your grand kiddos dont do a lot of rides or theme parks then it may backfire on you though!!

Whew, glad you got the Rider Swap straightened out!

I LOVE that upstairs dining room at CHH! Such great views out the window and usually pretty empty up there. And the food is yummy!

I really need to make some CM thank you cards next time I go. I run into so many awesome CMs I need to take the time to thank them!

Yuck on the rain but I guess it's better to be in WDW with rain than at home!

You guys seemed to have some great luck with getting additional FPs.

Yes, the rain was torrential this day, but it didnt slow us down at all, and the crowds cleared out... so yay for that!

Love the Mine Train pics, you guys look like you were having a blast!

Love Columbia Harbor House too!

Ugh sorry the rain was so bad, but glad you were able to use FP+ to your advantage!

Yes, we were like FP masters this day! LOL!

Can't wait to check the mine train out! It looks so fun! Too bad about the rain, but it didn't let it stop you guys, that's awesome!

We have to try CHH it looks like such use of a QS credit!

Totally didn't slow us down, but we were absolutely soaked to the bone. I remember trudging through a spot in Tomorrowland that the water was halfway up my calf... it was crazyyyyyyy!!! Not a good day to be wearing socks and running shoes...

sounds like a pretty good breakfast at Chef Mickey's and a fun way to start the day

Ugh, that trip to the MK though sounds terrible ... especially knowing how close the walk is. Oh well, at least you made it in time to meet talking Mickey.

He didn't talk when we last visited him, but it seems like such a fun experience. Though, I do wonder if kids then wonder why Donald, Goofy, etc. don't talk if Mickey can. :confused3

So glad they did well with the haircuts! Seems the spinny toys and stickers often do the trick and glad you were happy with the result.

The magic shot pictures of the two girls are really cute :goodvibes

It's funny but my kids didnt question it at all, although when he first started talking we were so excited and talked about it at home and watched youtube video and stuff, so they knew it was coming. I think the fact that face characters talk and other dont maybe is why they dont seem to question...

Can't wait to see more! So excited to see all the shirts you put so much thought and time into, in action!!

Haha, I am sorry about the absence!

Maddie is 100% a little heck raiser... sigh... but she keeps thing interesting!!

Rain did clear the crowds, there werent too many of us so crazy as to stay.. lol..

I love being able to do that with the 4th+ FP+. You can just keeping riding and riding if you're willing to just take whatever comes up with no wait. Kinda fun. It is fun! We love every single ride so its a win/win no matter what comes up, and we just try to get FP for ones we know will be gone early.

We did have a blast, the rain was INSANE this day but we did SO MUCH!!

I loved the mine train too. It is a perfectly fun ride! I could ride it over and over.
We ate upstairs in CHH too. It is so nice up there! Loved it.

LOVE the Mine Train, I could ride it forever!

Olivia's face in the 7DMT pictures are great!

Bummer about the torrential rain!

I know, I love how happy she is, time of her life!

Mine Train is one of our favs also. Can't wait until the popularity dies down. Think it will be a while. :jester:

Hmm, maybe when the Frozen ride opens!?!?

Just read all your report and it looks like you had so much fun. Your girls are so incredibly cute :)
Thank you! Glad you are enjoying it, its so fun to write it all out, I get to relive all the moments too!

Yay, you're back! I faithfully lurked on your pre-trip report and read this and then you disappeared but excited that you are getting it going again

Haha, so sorry! I will never live down my long absence, lol... I think a lot of it has to do with no upcoming trip planned, I lost my Disney spark for a bit there!I will try not to go away for so long again!

A little late to the party but subbing! Delighted to see your 2 yo doing so well! That's my one worry regarding our trip. Your trip report has definitely given me a huge confidence boost!!

Oh yes, she was better our first trip when she was 15 months old, but she did pretty great this time too, we did have some moments, but it was mostly because she was so mobile and wanted to do everything herself a lot, and walk around, and we needed her to sit... but other than that she just loves being in Disney and was a happy girl for the most part. I have to hear "I wanna go to Disney World" from her AT LEAST once a day...

Just read through - enjoying your report! Hanson AND Disney - ummm, yes please. Woman after my own heart. Reading about the monorail hold up and cramped boat had me stressing for you! Your girls are super cute. Looking forward to more!

 Oh Hanson!! I love you already!!! Isn't it the best combination EVER?!?!?!? HANSON AND DISNEY!!! SQUEEEE!

Yes, that darn monorail, but at least we didnt miss our FP window!!

Love your TR's! So jealous of your upcoming trip to DL, I'm hoping to make the journey out west in 2017:yay:

Thank you! But Don't be too jealous! That trip is canceled :sad1: No Disneyland for us, we couldn't swing it this year, we only have a non-Disney trip to the Smoky Mountains planned this fall, and then WDW will be next fall is the plan!

I am all caught up. Loved the rompers. So very cute on them. I try to stay away from the monorail after D~'s trip reports. Now another person that had problems, just proves I need to stay off of them. Never had a problem with the DLR monorail, but it only goes from DTD to Tomorrowland.

That rain is something else. I love the idea of just riding whatever you can get a FP for.

Hope you are having a good week.

I agree, the mine train was cramped, my hubby wasn't the most comfortable, but its short enough that its not a huge problem at least. You def have to try bothe Chef Mickeys and CHH, yumm-o!

This is fantastic! You girls look like you're having the ride of your lives!

LOVE it! My So and I ate there in 2012 and had the same experience; empty upstairs, great view. I'm glad your thank you cards were a hit! we want to do some for our trip in Sept.

There is always time for Dole Whip!

That was a great ride!!! I love the Mine Train so much!!!

And I agree... wish I had a dole whip right now!!

Rainy Tomorrowland

As I said before, we pretty much had to trek through a river to get to Tomorrowland. The rain was truly NUTS! Maddie was soaked, and the only one without a poncho, and getting cold, so we decided we had to find something in the gift shop to work for her!

There weren’t really any ponchos or jackets that would work for her, so instead we settled on a towel she could wrap around herself. She decided it was a blanket. So we got the fun “blanket” and off we went to ride Buzz!

Next up, your favorite and mine, The Peoplemover! And I have to say… Tomorrowland in the rain makes for some lovely photos!!

No dancing on the TTA!!

And something verrrrrrrry interesting happened on the TTA, when we got to the indoor section through Space Mountain, the lights were on!!!! Whaaaaaaat!

Totally not as cool with lights on! LOL! But we all got a good kick out of seeing it that way.

After our tour of Tomorrowland we went back to a FP kiosk to see what we score and ended up with Pooh!

About this time my feet were really beginning to bother me. I had on sneakers with thick socks, and my shoes were soaked through 100%, I had water squishing out with every step for the past hour or two and my feet were dying. We decided to head to Main St to look for some sandals for me, but sadly, none I liked could be found. So instead we found a nice quiet spot on a side street to just sit, and air my feet and shoes out!

It was pretty bad guys, I literally had to wring my socks out…yuck! But sitting there letting my horribly pruned feet air was just what I needed. Olivia had fallen asleep in the stroller and the quiet and empty side street allowed for Maddie to just run around a bit.

We were a bit hungry, but didn’t want to eat much, so Chris ran over to Casey’s for some corn dog nuggets! Oh. My. Gosh!!! These things are addicting and tasty!! We didn’t try them the first time around, but they were awwweeeeessssoooommmmeeeee!!!!!

The rain also started to let up, so I whipped out my camera to take some photos of this gorgeous area!!

One thing that was really cute was this little store front… you could actually hear the voice lessons being taught! The singing was cute and such a nice detail!

Chris came back and brought us a little treat from Casey’s… corn dog nuggets!!! Oh. My. YUM!!!!

Soon it was dark, and that meant it was about time to go check in for a very special reservation!!!!!

Coming up next… sugar. A lot of sugar!

Fireworks Dessert Party

We had really wanted to do this special treat on our first trip to the World, but unfortunately we waited too long on couldn’t secure an ADR, so you better believe I got that sucker right away this time around. And finally we were ready to check in for the Tomorrowland Terrace Fireworks Dessert Party!!! SQUEEEE!!!

They had us park the stroller and line up, and family by family they escorted us in, to find our pre-marked tables. Then we were OFF!!! FYI, it was all rainy and gross so I didn’t pull my camera out much. Sorry!

I have to say, the selection was great. I definitely felt like there were plenty of options, however, I was very sadly less-than-impressed with the desserts themselves. It’s so humid in Florida and a lot of them felt warm and mushy or melty as a result. Still they were good, there were just some that I felt were way too mushy, some that should have been colder, that kind of thing. It didn’t stop us from going back and having several plates of goodies though.

For the most part I tried to stick with the strategy of just trying a bite of everything, so I wouldn’t get too full or sick!

Now onto the seating.

The seats were great. I liked our view from our table, and yes, people did get up to watch the show, but I didn’t feel anyone stood up way too early, and there seemed to be plenty of space.

My one huge complaint though was the SOUND!! The music for the show seemed very far off and was hard to hear!! I hated that. I felt like I was truly watching from some great distance instead of it being right in front of me. I could barely hear the music, and you flat out couldn’t make out the talking. Bah-humbug.

Also, not that this is a complaint of the dessert party, itself, but due to weather Tinkerbell did not make her magical flight, so that was quite the bummer too.

We managed to get about 10 or so minutes into Wishes and decided to head out and beat the rush. We were soaking wet, tired, and un-impressed, so best just to hit the hay.

I ended up being very thankful of this decision as we saw the crowds coming out after us!

Soon we were back at POP and off to bed!

Coming up tomorrow, things get WILD at Animal Kingdom!!!!

Just read your whole trip report today! You have a beautiful family! I can't wait to hear more about your vacation!

What a great update! I love the pics of Maddie exploring the little side street. So precious!

I'm sorry your dessert party wasn't as great as it could have been. We sort of had the opposite problem when we went (so cold we left before wishes started). I think we both need do overs! I do love the pictures you got though. So pretty!

Did Olivia take the pic of you and Chris on the peoplemover? She did pretty good!!
